NordicTrack C 2200 Treadmill (NTL10905) Reviewed

Nordictrack

NordicTrack C 2200 Treadmill (NTL10905) is one of NordicTrack’s new products. It has a 2.25 horsepower motor (2.25 CHP Commercial DurX Drive System) and a 20 inches wide, 55 inches long treadbelt. Although it is a little shorter than in some other NorticTrack machines, the belt still provides a large walking surface.

The machine has the DuraSoft III Impact Cusioning shock absorption system. I don’t know how it’s different from regular DuraSoft found on other NordicTrack machines; I have checked the description on their website and saw nothing new in the description. Just as with regular DuraSoft, NordicTrack promises that the system will reduce impact on the joints by up to 28%.

The Solaris Illumination Console is supported by two slightly curved poles. The unusual feature of the console is that it illuminates only the features you use, helping you to focus your attention and keep a better track of your workout. For example, if you haven’t set up any incline, the Incline part of the console won’t be illuminated. The console has the Start & Stop buttons, buttons for speed and incline control, and four large LED displays that show your time, distance, pace, pulse, speed, incline, calories burned, and (a new feature) carbs burned. A 7×10 workout matrix shows visual graphs reflecting the workout intensity. There are two bottle holders on the console, on both sides of the display; right under them are two built-in air fans. The fans can be turned on with a press of a button and have two speeds, low and high.

Another new feature is the Odometer with MyMiles Tracker and 2 Profile Memory. The odometer, or, simply put, mile counter, has three settings. It can display your current workout distance, your total mileage on this treadmill, and the overall treadmill’s mileage.

The machine has the speed range of up to 10 miles per hour, which is usually enough for most runners, and the incline that goes up to 12%. You can set your speed and incline manually, or you can choose one of the 10 pre-set workout programs this treadmill has. The programs, varying in difficulty, will adjust your speed and incline automatically as you go. If the program is too intense for you, you can always overrun the settings manually, reducing them to an easier level.

The machine is iFit compatible, which means that you can hook it up to your computer and download more programmed workouts from iFit.com, targeted to work on specific tasks and designed by personal trainers. The workout are fun to use, they have music that changes in accordance with the changes of speed and incline (slower music for slower pace, etc.) and a trainer’s voice guiding you through your workout and explaining what’s going on. iFit workouts are also available on videos and CD’s.

NordicTrack C 2200 has the user weight limit of 300 pounds. The machine comes with a lifetime warranty for the motor and a 1 year warranty for parts and in-home labor. The machine is surprisingly affordable, for NordicTrack, retailing for $999. You can save $200 and buy it from the NordicTrack website for $799.00. They also offer free shipping for this machine.
