New Product Review: Suave Kids Shampoo Hair Smoothers

Suave has a line of kids shampoos that has come out in recent years called the Suave Kids 2 in 1 shampoo Hair Smoothers. Previous to this line of products, Suave had just regular Suave Kids 2 in 1 shampoo. The Hair Smoothers is a much improved product.

You would think about now that I am going to share with you how I used this on my child or baby’s hair, and what the results were. Did the child cry if it got into his eyes? Did the child like the smell. Well, you would be wrong.

This is a product review based on an adult’s use of this product: the Suave Kids 2 in 1 shampoo Hair Smoothers.

Why I use this product
I have used many hair products over the years
. I have also had many years of dry hair with split ends. I tried all kinds of different products- from mail order only expensive Lori Davis hair care back in the early 90’s (which really did a number on my hair), to Pantene, to other inexpensive products. Then, I just heard someone talking one day about how gentle kids shampoo is on child’s hair. I may have even heard someone say they used Johnson’s baby shampoo on their own hair.

I decided that I had had enough of the talk about how these different shampoos were going to end split ends, and make my hair look like a model’s. I decided the alternative was just to try the basic simple product. I did, actually start with the Johnson’s baby shampoo. I didn’t care for the smell, and it didn’t do much for my hair. I was somewhat disappointed. I then tried some other baby shampoos and continued my disapproval.

Now, here’s the thing. I happen not to like most regular smelling products- most of them have some type of floral scent and I find myself allergic to this. Or, it just doesn’t smell good to me. I have always liked the fruity-scented body sprays, so I decided to look for a shampoo that has a fruity scent. Incidentally, it happens to only be offered with kids shampoos. Why do they think that adults won’t want to join in on the fruity scents? Who knows?

So, I tried the product available at the time- the Suave regular 2 in 1 shampoo. This worked okay. I was impressed, as it didn’t leave a residue and my hair seemed decently healthy. At least it didn’t seem to be doing damage. Then, luckily, Suave improved and came out with the Hair Smoothers line. The first time I saw the product, I could see a difference. Whereas the original formula was somewhat clear, the smoothers was a more solid color, like a conditioner. The texture seemed immediately like it would do more for the hair.

Upon trying it, I was convinced. This was the product for me. I have relatively thin hair, although alot of it. I need body, shine and more. The Hair Smoothers make my hair look shiny, like when I was a kid. And, there is no residue, yet my hair feels protected. I don’t think my hair has ever looked healthier. And, I enjoy immensely the different scents.

About this product
The Suave Kids 2 in 1 Shampoo Hair Smoothers come in four different “scents
.” You can try orange mango, strawberry twirl, more recently blueberry thrills, and the new kind, cowabunga coconut. From what I can see of the contents, there is no alcohol. The Hair Smoothers have shampoo and conditioner in one bottle, so it takes one step for your total hairwashing regimen. I find it useful to leave the product in my hair a few minutes before rinsing.

Cost and Value
A 12 oz bottle of the Suave 2 in 1 Shampoo Hair Smoothers costs under $2 at Walmart, and around $2 at other stores. This is an incredible value. I get healthy hair and don’t have to pay much for it. Currently, the Blueberry scented bottle has a 20% bonus amount, for no extra cost.

Overall Recommendation
I would recommend this product to adults anywhere, just looking for healthy hair without alot of additional mess
. You get shampoo and conditioner in one step and your hair is shiny and silky. The cost can’t be beaten. I also advise using this shampoo for your children. It has a tear-free gentle formula just like other kids’ shampoos, at a great cost. The product is irreplaceable in my book!
