Neutrogena Moisturizer Vs Olay Moisturizer

Face Moisturizer

Skin care is important to everyone, especially women. I live in Texas where it’s hot about 10 months out of the year, depending on which parts you’re in, it’s either hot and dry, hot and windy or hot and humid, either way, it’s hot. No matter where you live as long as you spend some time outside, even just driving in your car, skin care is essential.

I’m a Texas girl and I never really thought to much about my skin unless I’m going to the beach, that is, not until I got older. I noticed that I was getting dry patches on my face, along my t-zone. It wasn’t sunburn because my face wasn’t hurting, red or really peeling. My mom said it was time for me to start using a daily moisturizer, specifically one with an SPF. My skin isn’t prone to breakouts but I still have fairly sensitive skin and I’ve already gone through the awkwardness that is puberty, really didn’t want to relive those days.

I wasn’t sure which moisturizer to use, which one was right for my skin? I figured the best way to find out is to just try one and since whatever my mom was using seemed to be working for her, I thought I’d try that, which was Olay face moisturizer. It seemed to have helped my dry patches some but didn’t stop the problem. The Olay moisturizer was light and unscented but I found that after a few weeks of using it my face would get kind of oily and my skin would get dry in the middle of the day, so I’d have to reapply the moisturizer. I’d also be prone to getting pimples along the areas where I would reapply the Olay moisturizer. I wasn’t sure what else to do, I can stop using Olay but I’d still have to find a face moisturizer that was better suited for my skin, preferably one with an SPF.

I had a dilemma and the only way to solve my problem was to find a new face moisturizer, but I already knew that there were hundreds to choose from, so I did my research first. I paid attention to skin care ads on TV, picked up a bunch of magazines and thumb through them for ideas and tips and did some online searching. I decided on Neutrogena because the brand is well known for it’s skin care products and are mainly targeted towards young women as well as getting the best review from customers.

The next day I went out and bought Neutrogena face moisturizer, it comes in scented and unscented, tinted, oil-free and SPF of 15, 30 and 45. I went with the oil-free one with an SPF 15 to start out with, I put the Neutrogena moisturizer on a three week trial period, if it didn’t work I’d try another brand.

As soon as I got home I tried it out, my t-zone was still dry and the bridge of my nose was starting to peel. I liked that it came in a bottle that has a pump which was nice and mess-less for me. I dapped a pearl size amount a long my t-zone, under my eyes and my cheeks and then rubbed it in. I love the way it felt, it was not at all oily, very light, it didn’t even feel like I had anything on my face. The best part was that my dry patches weren’t noticeable anymore, my skin was glowing and looked a lot healthier than it did a few minutes earlier. Neutrogena moisturizer lasted all day, I never had to reapply it once and my skin stayed oil-free as well.

It’s been years later and I still use Neutrogena moisturizer, it’s the only face moisturizer I’ll use and I’ve yet to get a blemish from it. I would definitely recommend Neutrogena face moisturizer to teenagers and young adults.
