Natural Flea Removal for Your Pet

Get Rid of Fleas, Getting Rid of Fleas

It seems that many pets such as cats and dogs end up infested with fleas at some point in their life. If you visit the stores you are bound to find dozens of chemical treatments in order to get rid of them. If, however, you are concerned about your pet and your family’s health, why not try a few natural treatments instead. Below you will find a few ideas and suggestions that may prove helpful when trying to get rid of fleas.

The first suggestion is to make a baking soda, and salt mixture. Regular table salt works just fine. Place your dog in the bathtub up to their neck. Next you will want to sprinkle the table salt over the dogs coat as well as the baking soda. I have found it easier to pre mix the baking soda and salt before hand. You can then pour over your dog as the tub fills. Massage into your dogs skin gently. Allow your dog to soak in the tub for at least thirty minutes then rinse well. Repeat this every two weeks and your pet should be flea free in no time.

Of course if you don’t want your dog to continue to get reinvested, it is very important that you take the time to rid them from the environment. You will need to treat your backyard with an all natural real remover. I would not recommend trying any of the citrus methods that you sometimes see online. These may get rid of the fleas, but can draw other pests. Instead, when it comes to your yard it is best to visit your local pet store, and purchase some all natural spray that can be used in your yard. This is easy to find, at stores like Petco or you can do a simple online search. Until you have thoroughly treated your yard, you will want to make sure that you keep your dog out of it. If you allow your dog back into the infested area, they will just end up with a ton of fleas, all over again and you will have to start the process from scratch. Remember getting rid of fleas is not complicated, but it should be done in a way that not only protects your pet but you as well. You should also make sure that your children do not play outside in the grass for a while. If they do this, they can easily bring the fleas into the house on their clothes, and they can then end up back on the dog. If you choose to hire a professional, I would recommend that you check to make sure that they are using all natural products before they start spraying. It may take a bit of research in order to find a professional who uses all natural products. Last but not least you can visit your vet and ask them about a few tips and suggestion on getting rid of the fleas naturally.
