Nashville Fourth of July Happenings

Wine Tours

The big Fourth of July event in Nashville happens along the banks of the Cumberland River. The event is now 20 years old and spread over two days for 2012. The celebration will feature musical entertainment ranging from country stars to the Nashville Symphony Orchestra.

The event begins July 3rd at 6pm at the Lawn at Riverfront Park with a free concert. The fun will continue on July 4th when the gates open at noon and the music starts soon after. Acts this year will include The Mavericks, Craig Morgan, Sarah Darling, the Music City Hit Makers, and the Nashville Symphony. McDonald’s is also sponsoring a Family Fun Zone at 2nd Ave and Broadway with cool snacks, misting stations and a rock climbing wall. The evening’s finale will be the South’s most spectacular choreographed fireworks display that is married to the dramatic music of the Nashville Symphony.

Come early to get a good seat as this event has typically attracted 100,000 people per year. More information can be found at http://musiccityjuly4th.com/.

For those who do not want to fight the downtown traffic and crowds for a good seat, check out the reserved seating at the Adventure Science Center which is located right on the outskirts of downtown Nashville. Seating can be reserved from a choice of three different tiers that all include parking. Package #1 is the lawn viewing where you can bring your own blankets, chairs and picnic baskets. Cost is $35 per person. Package #2 is the rooftop viewing where you bring your own chairs, but a buffet, along with Yazoo beer for those over 21, will be served and included in the ticket price. Cost is $75 per person. Package #3 is the deluxe White Linen and Champagne Dinner. A private section on the roof will be set aside for this package. The menu will include steak, chicken and seafood kebabs along with wine, champagne and soft drinks. All of this is included in the ticket price; however, you must be at least 21 to purchase and IDs will be checked. The cost is $300 per couple. More information at http://www.adventuresci.com.
