The Myers-Briggs personality type ISFJ is the rare type of person who remembers, vividly, the conversation you shared over two years ago. Though you have forgotten most of the details, the ISFJ can recall exactly the topics discussed and why it had been so significant to the both of you at the time. This is because this personality type ISFJ is systematic and orderly in their collection of data, highly valuing data with sentimental associations.
In any form of relationship, this Myers-Briggs personality type will express thoughtfulness and dependability. They will often put the group before themselves for the “greater good” without complaint or hesitation. However, an ISFJ personality type must take care not to completely bottle their emotions in order to ensure the happiness of others. Introverted and very sensitive to the wishes and needs of those around them, an ISFJ may dutifully keep their own emotions secretive without realizing the full extent to which repeated behavior of this nature may harm themselves, along with those who care for them.
A ISFJ does not make a habit of questioning authority, however it is not that an ISFJ is lazy or dogmatic. Pragmatists, this Myers-Briggs personality type has faith in the established order and feels that harmony and cooperation are enough motivation to not rock the boat. However, if someone invests the time to truly explain why a particular system is superior than one which is traditionally employed, an ISFJ is open minded enough to consider switching their habits. For these reasons, an ISFJ personality type works well in group settings. This kind of person strives to fulfill their roles in a team effort and care enough to assist others. For instance, imagine the types of people at school who were happy to complete study guides before an exam because they had faith the teacher or professor was pointing them in the correct direction in preparation or somewhat regretted not finishing homework because they knew they would pay for their lack of focus in the end.
Though the ISFJ Myers-Briggs personality type lives in a rich internal world, they would rather an occupation which concentrates upon immediate applications rather than analysis. That is to say, their internal world is more so concerned with meaningful emotions and experiences rather than theoretical or philosophical thinking. Moreover, an ISFJ personality type is not likely to pursue academic fields which requires this deep thinking. Rather, a good career fit for an ISFJ would be with something like accounting because it requires learning a series of fundamental rules and repetition which will almost never fail. Furthermore, this Myers-Briggs personality type would not usually mind steady hours and routine associated with their jobs. It is far more likely they would accept such a lifestyle as a normalcy and cease to consider alternatives, finding them unrealistic or difficult.
