Must-See Haunted Houses in Louisville, Kentucky

Haunted Hospitals, Haunted Houses, Waverly Hills

Many haunted houses have already opened their doors for the 2007 Halloween season. Louisville, Kentucky, is home to some of the scariest haunted houses in the United States. So which of the haunted houses in Louisville are must-see attractions?

The Baxter Avenue Morgue

The Baxter Avenue Morgue has been rated by Haunted House fans as one of the best Haunted Houses in the country. The Baxter Avenue Morgue is housed in the basement of a one-hundred and six year old building located at 451 Baxter Avenue. The building was once home to the Vanderdark Morgue. The history of the Vanderdark Morgue is quite disturbing itself, and lends to the eeriness of the attraction.

The Baxter Avenue Morgue opened on September 28th, and will run October 4-6, 11-13, 18-21, 25 -28, and 31. The Haunted House opens at 8 pm each night, and will run until 11 pm on Thursdays and Sundays, as well as on the 31, and will remain open until 2 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Tickets are $15 each for adults and $8 each for children under the age of eight. A VIP pass is available to avoid waiting in line for a cost of $25. The Haunted House is very graphic in nature, and the owners do warn that Parental Discretion is advised, as it may be inappropriate for young guests.

The hospital’s ghost stories are legendary and has been termed the one of the most “haunted hospitals” in the eastern United States. It has been seen on several popular television shows such as FOX’s Scariest Places on Earth, VH 1’s Celebrity Paranormal Project, and the Sci-Fi Channel’s Ghost Hunter’s.
