Farm Fresh Delivery in Indianapolis

amy's kitchen, Organic Beef

If you live in Indianapolis, then this is something that you have to look into. This company delivers fresh organic produce right to your front door. The best part about it is most of the produce comes directly from farms in central Indiana. Obviously, there are some things that cannot be grown in Indiana’s climate, so those things come from other states. Nearly every week, the choice of fruits and vegetables is different. They have a default order that they send to everybody, but you can change anything about it that you don’t like. Personally, I customize my order.

Fruits and veggies aren’t the only thing you can get from Farm Fresh. Basically anything you would need from a grocery store, you can get through them. You can get yogurt and milk from the award winning Trader’s Point Creamery. Organic beef, chicken, and eggs from local farms. Chocolate from Endangered Species Chocolate Co. Delicious hand made pastas and pasta sauces from a local chef. It seems like every month they get more products, mostly from small local companies. They even started offering products from the popular Amy’s Kitchen line.

It may sound ridiculous, but I actually get excited about my Farm Fresh delivery every Thursday. Everytime I open that green tote, it’s like Christmas. I usually forget everything I ordered, so it’s a bit of a surprise going through everything. One thing I’ve noticed – I’m not sure if they do this intentionally – is that some of the fruit is more ripe than others. For instance, I’ll get four plums, two of them will be ready to eat, and the others aren’t quite ready yet. It works out perfectly because none of the fruit goes bad that way! Also, the produce is the best I’ve ever tasted. The fruit is so juicy and flavorful, you would think it was genetically modified, pumped full of steroids, and grown in a lab to ensure the perfect fruit. But it’s not. It’s 100% organic.

You have to order at least $35 worth of food per week. They say if you order less than that, they’ll charge you a small fee. I’ve been under $35 before, and they just threw in a few pieces of fruit, just enough to make the order worth the required amount. The prices are very reasonable, much cheaper than the organic produce you’ll find at your local grocery. You can have them deliver once a week, or once every two weeks. The day of delivery just depends on what part of Indy you live in. The way it works, a delivery truck drives around and leaves your order in a green tote outside your door. On the next delivery day, just put that empty tote out, the delivery person will take it and exchange it for your new order. Anything that is supposed to remain cold is put inside an ice pack, so you don’t have to worry about that.
