Miniature Golf in Raleigh, NC

Adventure Landing, Batting Cages, Go Karts, Mini Golf

In and around Raleigh, North Carolina, there are a number of miniature golf locations, each with its own set of advantages and disadvantages.

Our personal favorite mini golf place in Raleigh, North Carolina is Frankie’s Fun Park. This mini golf place features three holes. The particular theme is a bit hard to pin down, but involves boats and miniature buildings. The holes are built among the decorations, rather than directly into them, as in some mini golf places. Although the courses are not particularly challenging, it is a fun diversion in a great location, right off of 540 and Glenwood Avenue, just past Brier Creek Shopping. Frankie’s Fun Park is a popular location for adult groups, but has plenty available for children, as well. 18 holes of golf cost $8 for anyone over the age of 3; 3 and under play free with a paying adult. Other attractions include the “fun house” (an indoor maze and jungle gym), the drop zone (outdoor carnival style ride), arcade (which also includes mini bowling), batting cages, the Spider Web (a three story climbing structure), Go-Karts, Bumper Boats and Laser Tag. There is also a relatively up-scale restaurant in addition to the usual concession stand. Frankie’s opens at 10 am every day and stays open until it is determined time to close. On weekends, this is typically around midnight or a bit later. The condition of the course and attractions at Frankie’s is very clean and good, but it does get extremely crowded. There are also not a lot of decent walking paths throughout the arcade, and in some sections, it barely meets ADA standards in terms of

One of the most well established mini golf places is off of Capital Blvd in Raleigh. Adventure Landing has been in existence for over a decade, and is a popular place with a centralized location not far off of the Beltline. With an adventure-style theme and three courses to choose from, Adventure Landing is popular for people of all ages. All courses are about equal in difficulty, and all cost the same. Pricing for miniature golfing at Adventure Landing is $7.00 per game, but there are discounts available if you play more than one game or purchase any of a number of different passes for multiple attractions. Also available at Adventure Landing is Laser Tag, Go-Karts, batting cages and an indoor arcade area. There are additional discounts available if you visit on particular days, and a “seasonal” golfing pass can be purchased for $79.99 (discounted at time of publication to $59.99) for unlimited golfing. With a location right in the middle of everything, right off of the Beltline and Capital Blvd on the road, this mini golf place is very convenient, but has begun to show its age in certain ways. Adventure Landing opens at 10 am every day but Saturdays (opening time is 9 am on Saturdays) and closes around 10 pm on weekdays or midnight on weekends. Adventure Landing may close early due to lack of business or poor weather, as many of the attractions are outdoors.

If you’re looking for a less crowded atmosphere and the ability to spend more energy playing mini golf instead of overloading on arcade games and batting cages, Sweet Shot Mini Golf opened in 2005 off of Jones Franklin Road in Swift Creek Shopping Plaza. With a single 18 hole outdoor course costing $7.00 for adults to play, Sweet Shot Mini Golf has a much more challenging course option than either of the two previously listed mini golf places. The website offers a peek at what the course looks like. Snacks are available in the form of a snack bar serving ice cream and Hawaiian shave ice. Fundraising and school groups are welcome here for a special price.
