The Micro Center computer store is the best computer store in Denver, CO. They are located just off of I-225 and Tamarac Dr, which is the last exit off of I-225 S before it turns into I-25.
The Good
They have the best selection of software in the Denver metro area. Some stores, Best Buy for example, have an ever smaller selection of software. It seems every store wants to sell computers, and no one wants to sell the software that helps make computers powerful.
They have many computers with live internet connection which makes it easy to price compare. When I bought my computer here, I was able to read reviews of the computer and price compare at the same time.
It turned out that Micro Center had the best price (which is not always the case, so it is good to check).

Free Tech Support
This is just amazing. The technical support man stationed here seemed very knowledgeable, calm, and actually solved basic computer problems, for free. The hours for the walk in technical support are less than the store hours, which is to be expected.
I had to wait 45 minutes for help, but that is a small price to pay. It got me a lot farther than an hour on the phone with Dell tech support (who needed me to spell Denver because they couldn’t spell it).
The Bad
Some of their computer salesmen are just salesmen with no computer knowledge. I couldn’t find anyone who knew anything about software for example. I feel like the software they do recommend is the push of the week by the management.
When I asked them about a particular computer, the salesmen would literally read specifications off of the box… not very helpful (I could do that alone). I wouldn’t waste my time with many of the salesmen.
A software product was recommended to me by the free technical support person to solve my problem. The software was $100 at Micro Center, and $60 on Amazon. They were unable to price match, and said that $60 was below their cost (maybe they should use Amazon as their supplier).
When I got home, with a little bit of web research I was able to find a freeware version of the program. Not a pirated version, but a program that basically did the same thing and was created by the community for the community.
Conclusion
Sometimes Micro Center is the best price, sometimes they are not. Their computers with internet access make it easy to be an informed consumer, and to make the right decision. If you are looking for anything computer related, try Micro Center first.
