I wasn’t really in the market to purchase another lipstick, but I have to admit that the pretty sparkling purple tube of Maybelline Forever Metallics Lip Color caught my eye as I was going down the aisle in the store. I stopped to investigate and found a nice neutral shade called Earthly Ore. It looked like a great neutral shade for the summer and I decided to give it a try.

Maybelline Forever Metallics Lip Color comes in a bright metallic purple tube that contains .11 ounces of lipstick. The shade I chose was Earthly Ore, which is a medium shade of an earthly brown with a hint of peach mixed in. It is a great neutral shade that can be worn year-round.
Maybelline markets this lipcolor as being “Smooth, long wearing, high defination lipcolor with metallic pearl finish. Hyper-pearl formula creates metallic light reflective shine”.
Maybelline has approximately 20 shades in the Forever Metallics line. This lipstick retails anywhere from $3.50 a tube to $10.99 a tube depending on where you buy it.
My Thoughts On Maybelline Forever Metallics Lip Color
I picked a shade from this line of lipstick that can be worn with anything, on any day and match whatever I’m wearing. The shade Earthly Ore can be worn with casual outfits, to work or even to formal events. The shade is a medium tone or shade of brown that is frosted with a touch of a peachy tint.
Maybelline Forever Metallics Lip Color in Earthly Ore doesn’t quite live up to the hype and drama of its name. It is not bright, nor does it have a metallic shine from what I can tell. It is more of an everyday shade in a neutral color with a slight shine to it. The lipstick applies very smoothly and does a wonderful job of moisturizing lips. I find that there is really nothing extra ordinary about it, but it is great for an everyday lipstick.
I had tried a lip liner from this line about a year ago that was also in a neutral shade. I have to give kudos to Maybelline for adding a neutral choice to this line of lipstick. Most of the shades at the store I visited were bright and loud and not a choice that I would have been happy with purchasing.

Recommendation
I recommend Maybelline Forever Metallics Lip Color for an everyday lipstick that I found to be a little better than average. It does a great job of moisturizing lips and stays on for several hours. Not bad for a lipstick from the drugstore! You should be happy with this lipstick as long as you aren’t expecting premium quality.
