Makeup Review: Coastal Scents’ Gel Liners

Gel Liner

For all you makeup guru’s out there, you know the difficulty of choosing a makeup online. It’s never certain if the product will be worth your hard earned money or not. If you’re looking to purchase makeup online and have no idea if it will be worth it or not, check here for more info!

I have been a makeup guru all my life and have been testing and reviewing products for the last five years. Each review is broken down into easily understood categories. Today we’re taking a look at Coastal Scents’ Gel Liners.

Casing: (5 stars out of 5)

These liners come in very cute little jars. The jar is made from a cloudy glass and has a solid, black screw on/off capping. There is no applicator with this product.

Inside the jar sits a little product pocket where the liner sits. When you first get this product, you may think the liner looks a little dried out but it is only because it has been sitting unused. The Gel Liner will start to take form once you begin using it.

There really is not much to the casing of this liner. It is modern, sleek, and stylish. The actual amount of product within this jar is 3 grams (.11 ounces). Keep in mind that a little of this liner will go a long way.

Colors: (4.5 stars out of 5)

Let me start off by saying I love the color selection Coastal Scents’ created for their Gel Liner. Now to my dismay, they do not have a black liner. Most of the liner colors are “spunky”. Colors range from browns, to pinks, to blues, to greens, to purples, to a white.

Some of the colors do have a shimmer glint to them, but most are a matte tone. The pigments are very rich and it does not take much to get the job done. There is a total of 25 colors currently available.

Texture: (4 stars out of 5)
The texture of this liner may feel a little different to you if you are using it for the first time. It is extremely soft but it may feel a little heavier than what you are used to. I never really had a problem with creasing or flaking while using this product but it does smudge a little if you mess with it before it is completely dry.

I would recommend using a stiff, angled brush for this liner. It will give you better control.

Application Life: (4.5 stars out of 5)

I was very happy with the application life of this liner. I got approx. 7 hours of full wear. I did one little touch up throughout the day, but it was because I smudged the liner a little after rubbing my eye. I did notice that the liner appears to last a little longer if applied over a primer or eyeshadow.

All-in-all, this is a very nice product to have. It is a little on the pricey side but it is worth the money if you are into gel liners. This product received an average rating of 4.5 stars out of 5.
