Lego Belville Advent Calendar: The Perfect Gift for Lego Lovin’ Girls!

Baby Cribs, Magic Wands

Advent Calendars come in all shapes, sizes and themes but Lego has taken the concept and added a little something Lego-tastic to it. They’ve created a Belville themed calendar with a little surprise behind every door. The items are packed in little plastic bags so there are no loose pieces to have to worry about getting lost before the flap is opened. The past two years we’ve purchased these for girls in the family as well as ones that were on sale after the holidays to donate the following year to local toy drive.

The concept is simple; each day you crack open one of the flaps to reveal the hidden surprise. These vary from princess figures, animals (cats, dogs, birds, mice), furniture (tea sets, baby cribs, kitchen accessories) and seasonal things like Christmas trees, small ornaments and gift boxes. One thing that we always look forward to is the clear pink chest. These are great additions to any Belville scene and can be used to hold a plethora of things from gems to clothing, magic wands to secret treasures.

When is the best time to give a girl one of these? Well, they do make for nice gifts at the beginning of the holiday season and it’s something that can really kick off the month of December with a bang. You could give it as a Christmas gift but most of the fun would be missed as it is something that is supposed to be opened one at a time. If you just want the pieces to add to a collection or sell individually then buying them after the holiday is the way to go. You can get them for 50% off, chop up the pieces and double or triple your purchase price.

If you have a little boy that you are shopping for you can check out the Lego City Advent Calendar, that is a little better of a pick and has some very cool ‘boy related’ things in it. The Lego Belville Advent Calendar is priced at $19.99 which breaks down to less than a dollar a day. If you want to get this for less, check local toy stores that are having sales on Lego sets or online at auction sites. Be careful though, make sure you aren’t getting the 2005 or 2006 Advent Calendar as these sell for a little less than the 2007 one.

There are some small pieces to this set so be sure that the child receiving it knows not to put them in their mouth or try to eat them. If you want you can reuse the box the following year and put small Lego related items in the individual sections. We have the 2005 and 2006 sets all ready to go and little Annabelle is anxiously awaiting December 1st to arrive so she can start opening up the 2007 one. If you are looking for a gift that little girls will fall in love with this is a great pick. Almost all of the pieces can be added to the Belville Lego sets and used within the scenes.
