The more I sniff fragrances, the more I learn about them. And so far, I’ve learned that there are fragrances that smell really good in the bottle, but may smell a lot worse once they get on the body.
Look, I love sweet candy-ish scents, but how wearable are those scents? Who really wants to smell like a lollipop every day? Some of the candy scents are well made and wearable, but the most wearable scents are the ones that I like the least–and those are the floral ones.
I’m always a bit apprehensive about floral fragrances because I always expect to not like them. I think they all smell a little too grown up for me, but I was proven wrong a couple of times, and this happened to be one of those times.
L’eau de Chloe is a great floral fragrance. It smells like roses with a touch of wood and citrus notes. Lime, sandalwood, and cedarwood seems to be the main components. It’s a great combination of scents. The wood and citrus notes made the rose more modern and more appealing to someone like me– still young (23) and still attracted to candy. I think it’s about time for me to grow up and appreciate something else.
My only problem with this fragrance is that it is not sexy. It’s very sophisticated, but not sexy. I can’t help it–I want sexy fragrances! But this fragrance is still very nice, very wearable, and I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars.
