Kid’s Movies to Watch Out for in 2010

There will be all kinds of wonderful kids’ movies coming out in the year 2010. Disney will be releasing several movies next year and it will surely be an exciting year for young audiences. Here are the top ten movies that may be of interest to children.

1. The Last Song

This movie will be based on the book The Last Song which will be written by successful author Nicholas Sparks. This movie will be about a rebellious teenage girl (Miley Cyrus) that will visit her father (who she hasn’t seen in a long time) for the summer. It is expected to hit theaters on January 8th, 2010. There is no official trailer for this movie yet, but more information can be found at http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=54110.

2. Alice in Wonderland

I am definitely looking forward to seeing this movie on March 5, 2010. The animated version of Alice in Wonderland was one of my favorite Disney movies when I was a kid. I have always been impressed with Tim Burton’s movies, particularly The Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands. Tim Burton is an absolute genius. There will also be some excellent actors in this movie including Johnny Depp (who starred in Edward Scissorhands) and his Burton’s partner Helena Bonham Carter. Depp will play the Mad Hatter and Carter will play the Red Queen. Ann Hathaway (from the Princess Diaries) will play the White Queen and Alan Rickman ill play the caterpillar. This film will be different from the past film in that there will be some newly added characters. A teaser trailer can be found at http://teaser-trailer.com/2009/06/tim-burtons-alice-in-wonderland-movie.html.

5. Toy Story 3

I remember all the years ago when the first Toy Story movie came out. As a matter of fact, it has been 14 years. I really enjoyed it a lot. Tom Hanks voiced the Cowboy known as Woody and Tim Allen voiced Buzz Lightyear the spaceman. I thought they were really entertaining. I never did watch the entire second installment so I may watch that again so that I can get caught up. Even though I am older, I still enjoy watching some of the Disney movies.
