Khaliah Ali Joins Up with ObesityHelp, Inc. To Promote “The Moment of Truth Campaign”

Lap Band

Khaliah Ali is the daughter of the world famous fighter Muhammad Ali. Khaliah’s story is a touching one that almost any overweight individual can identify with. Read this article to see how Khaliah won the fight over obesity and is helping others do the same by promoting the new Moment of Truth Campaign.

Khaliah’s Personal Story
After the birth of a son, Khaliah reached 335 pounds-the highest she had ever weighed. She began getting out of breath when climbing the stairs or playing with her son. She even took 30 minutes to get out of bed every morning because of the swelling in her feet and knees. She knew she needed to do something to lose the weight or she wouldn’t be around to care for her son. She also knew regular dieting didn’t work because she was always so hungry. She considered Gastric Bypass, but worried about its risks. Finally she learned about the Lap-Band Adjustable Gastric Banding System which posed far less of a risk then Gastric Bypass.

Today, Khaliah is happy, healthy and weighs in at less than 170lbs. She doesn’t feel hungry and can give her son all the attention he needs.

The Moment of Truth
The moment of truth comes when a person realizes they are obese and that it is affecting their lives. They also realize it is time they do something about it. For Khaliah that moment took 30 years. Her moment of truth like so many others was triggered by the birth of her child. If you are obese and want to see if it is time for your turning point “the moment of truth” use the self-assessment tool found at momentoftruth.org.

The Lap Band System
No stomach cutting or stapling is required. A band is simply placed around the stomach making it smaller. You will not be able to eat as much at one sitting. You will also become full faster and desire to eat less. This will enable you to lose weight faster and in a healthier way. This system is only available to those who are at least 100lbs overweight.

Recognize Obesity is a Growing Problem
Approximately 60 million Americans are obese and that number keeps growing. Obese individuals begin to suffer and develop many health problems including early death, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure, and sleep disturbances. Recognizing that this is a problem, Khaliah Ali joined the “Moment of Truth” campaign hoping to inspire others to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle.
