Jim Gaffigan’s Hot Pocket: Top 10 Favorite MySpace Videos

Family Guy, Hot Pockets

10. Up Late by Family Guy

If you are a Family Guy fan, which everyone should be, you’ll love this hilarious video from the creators of Family Guy. Stewie acts as a late-night talk show host, with Brian as his sidekick. It’s all very well done, with Cleveland and his band, “The Tokens” as the in-house Paul Schaffer-style band. The dynamic duo interview Rob Corrdry, from the new hit comedy “The Winner,” (from Family Guy creators). The skit is really a plug for the new sitcom, but it doesn’t seem like one, and it isn’t too needy. The other good thing about it is that all the jokes are original and funny, not just Family Guy rip-offs. Everyone should check this one out, and let’s hope there are more to come.

9. Evanescence – Sweet Sacrifice

This latest music video from goth-rock band Evanescence is storming the charts and was, thankfully, just recently added to MySpace. This is one of my favorite Evanescence videos. Amy Lee is rockin’ as she belts out one of the best songs from the band’s sophomore album “The Open Door. The song “Sweet Sacrifice”, which claims that “fear is only in our minds / taking over all the time” is sung by lead singer Amy Lee against a backdrop of reds and golds and swirly silvers. My favorite part is the very end, when all the members of the band wind up next to each other, like a sweet rekindling.

8. Avril Lavigne – Girlfriend

The first single off of punk rocker Avril Lavigne’s third album “The Best Damn Thing” is a loud poppin’ song called “Girlfriend.” The music video is even better than the song itself, where the Canadian native plays three different roles: red-haired snobby girlfriend, raven-haired boyfriend-stealer, and her regular rockin’ and singin’ self – the golden-haired (and pink streaked) Avril Lavigne. In the video, raven-haired boyfriend stealing Avril goes on a stalkish and gleeful journey following the beau of her dreams around on all his dates with his snooty girlfriend, trying her hardest to screw things up so she can have him for herself. Does she get him in the end? Watch the video to find out.

7. Flyleaf covers Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” Live at Pepsi Smash

Flyleaf, the rockin’ Texas quintet, performed the classic Nirvana song “Smells Like Teen Spirit” for Pepsi Smash and I must say, I think they did a fabulous job. Lead singer Lacey Mosley can belt out Nirvana tunes in an awesome way. It doesn’t seem copycat or derivatave – still classic Nirvana while maintaining the utmost down-home rock that is Flyleaf.

6. Lacuna Coil – Within Me

The latest music video from Italian rock band Lacuna Coil is “Within Me”, from their latest album “Karmacode. The awesome thing about Lacuna Coil is that they have two lead singers: the vivacious Cristina Scabbia, and long-haired crooner Andrea Ferro. The two of them sing well on this song; it’s more of a toned-down rock song, with a deep spiritual meaning. The video is clouded in hues of grey and blue, so much that it almost looks black and white, but in a way that makes it ethereal and gothic. Awesome video.

5. Simpsons movie trailer

This latest trailer for the upcoming (and long awaited) Simpsons movie is a hilarious sneak peek at what audiences and fans everywhere will have to wait until July to see in its entirety. The trailer features the bumbling Homer petting a pig, the elderly and emaciated Mr. Burns, who must choose between helping his friends and releasing the hound, and a whole slew of other guest-stars, from America’s favorite beloved yellow-faced cartoon. Three guesses which one he chooses?

4. Sleepy Kitten

This 30 second snippet of a very sleepy kitten has been passed around the Internet for a few months now, and even had a stint on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report”. It is as simple as it sounds: a very adorable and very tired kitten just can’t keep his (or her) eyes open. There isn’t a single person on the planet who won’t smile at the sight of this video. It hits home with me since my cat died a little over a year ago. Watch this video! It will make you happy, even if only for a moment.

3. Dane Cook Church

Rambunctious comedian Dane Cook, in an old video doing his classic stand-up, discusses going to church as a child. This is classic Dane Cook. Newer fans may not have seen this and shouldn’t miss the chance, and older fans will be glad to get their hands on some of Dane Cook’s classic material. He’s a regular riot, with original jokes and great delivery. Every comedy fan should check it out.

2. Pale Force

Those who are fans of comedy, or Conan O’Brien, or the hilarious (and pale) comedian Jim Gaffigan MUST see the short cartoon skit known as “Pale Force.” Originally started on Conan O’Brien whenever he’d have Jim Gaffigan on as a guest, the “Pale Force” became a recurring phenomenon. It consists of comedian Jim Gaffigan as an unrealistically buff super-hero with an exaggeratedly scrawny Conan O’Brien as his sidekick. The skits are hilarious and you will definitely get a kick out of all of them, especially if you’re a Gaffigan or O’Brien fan already.

1. Jim Gaffigan – Hot Pocket

This clip from comedian Jim Gaffigan’s stand-up routine is one of his most famous and funniest to date. In it, Jim raves about the deliciousness of hot pockets and yet how they simultaneously taste great and make you sick. The best thing about Jim’s comedy are his asides to (and as) the audience members as well as his right-on deadpan delivery. Fans of Jim can check out his MySpace (myspace.com/jimgaffigan).
