How to Prevent Frizzy Hair

Preventing frizzy hair sounds like a hard task, but it is actually pretty easy to do. There are a variety of methods for preventing frizz, including using deep-conditioning hair masks, applying good hair-styling products and staying away from hot styling tools.

When I want to prevent frizzy hair, I use a good hair mask, but first I wash my hair and condition it with my regular shampoo and conditioner. Then I take about a half a cup of hair mask and massage the hair mask right onto my hair and scalp. Sometimes I even comb the hair mask through my hair to make sure every strand of hair is covered. After that, I place a shower cap over my head and allow the hair mask to soak into my hair for 45 minutes. Once the time is up, I rinse my hair with cold water. Cold water helps seal in the moisture and nutrients from the hair mask, which will help repair my hair, making it look frizz-free and shiny and feel soft and silky.

The next thing I do to prevent frizzy hair is to use a high-quality leave-in conditioning spray, hair-control frizz spray and a hair wax or balm. The first product I use is the leave-in conditioning spray. I simply spray the leave-in conditioner just below the crown of my head to help keep my hair lightly moisturized. Afterward, I take the anti-frizz spray and spritz it on from the roots to the ends of my hair. Next, I take a dime-sized amount of the hair balm or wax and massage it into my hair below the crown of my head to prevent my hair from becoming too weighed down. Then, I take a comb or soft-bristle brush, comb my hair out and allow it to air dry. Once my hair is dried, it is frizz-free and beautiful. However, on hot days I sometimes need to spray on the frizz-control product a couple of times throughout the day to keep any frizz that might want to pop up at bay.

Another trick that can help keep hair frizz-free is to avoid shampoos and conditioners that contain alcohol, parabens and sulfates, because these ingredients can dry out and damage your hair, causing it to be frizzy. You should also switch to using organic and natural hair care products, and consider using a deep-conditioning hair treatment once or twice per week to prevent frizz.

One last thing you can do to prevent frizz is to stop using your hot styling tools, such as a curling iron or flat iron. These tools will cook your hair and dry it up, causing tons of frizz and split ends. Instead, allow your hair to naturally air dry with the nice, breezy wind or sun dry in the warm, summer sun.

Frizzy hair doesn’t have to be a problem anymore, if you have read this and understand the steps you need to take to prevent it. Perform these steps continuously to prevent your hair from ever becoming frizzy again.
