How to Place & Rotate FarmVille Items

Have you played FarmVille? FarmVille is one of Facebook’s most popular and addictive free online games. FarmVille allows you to grow and harvest crops, raise livestock, and build a ranch – and you can play FarmVille with your Facebook friends, too!

FarmVille offers many different items which allow you to build out your farm and adorn it with many elements, adding depth and realism to your farm and also helping you to gain FarmVille points, which help you climb to higher levels in the game. Knowing how to rotate FarmVille items and place them in your farm will help you enjoy the game more, too.

Placing Farmville Items

Placing Farmville items is a simple matter. Once you have purchased your FarmVille items at the market, you simply click over the part of your farm on which you want to place the item. Choosing a location for these items is entirely up to you.

But, of course, if you’re limited in space, don’t have the opportunity for a Farmville expansion soon because you lack FarmVille-playing Facebook friends, and can’t muster up enough FarmVille cash to make some more room on your farm, then you’re looking at pretty tight confines when it comes to putting on your farm all the things you want to make it complete and personalized. That’s when a bit of strategy comes into play when placing FarmVille items.

Make sure you abut all crops next to each other by plowing grid squares tangent (touching) one another. Try and create large patches of these crop squares. If you’re trying to build points in the game quickly, remember the more cropland the better – because plowing, planting, and harvesting are worth points in FarmVille.

If you’re going to place buildings and animals on your farm, try and keep them in a compact space on your farm. Perhaps stick all your buildings, decorations, and animals in one corner of your farm, or perhaps one long strip of land. But, in FarmVille, crops are king – if placing your items strategically is your aim, then place your items close to one another and in a limited area. Save most your land for crops.

Rotating FarmVille Items

Now that you know more about placing FarmVille items, let’s discuss rotating FarmVille items. Luckily, it’s easy to rotate many FarmVille items once you get the hang of it. On your main FarmVille screen, check out the panel of buttons on the bottom right side of the screen.

The top left button (the left-most button in the upper row) shows a large, white arrow. If you roll the mouse over this arrow, you’ll see that it’s called a “Multi Tool.” This allows you to control and adjust many things in FarmVille. When you click on the Multi Tool, you can move across your farm and click on various things – anything – to see what you can do with the items on which you click.

When you click on an item with the Multi Tool, the list of all the possible things you can do with that item will pop up in a small menu. If the word “rotate” appears in that menu, you will be allowed to rotate that item. Right now, FarmVille does not allow you to place items at angles diagonal on the grid upon which FarmVille is played. You may, however, turn your items at right angles.

As of this writing, you’re not able to rotate every item in FarmVille. In fact, item rotating is limited to relatively few items – generally animals and fencing at this point. You might find it frustrating that you can’t rotate all your Farmville items, such as barns or sheds. This limitation may change in time as FarmVille is updated in the future.
