Accounting and finance professionals in Britain and certain other countries can raise their career potential by obtaining certification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). ACCA is a certifying agency that provides ACCA certification for accountants and CAT certification for certified accounting technicians (CAT is similar but lower in stature as far as the expertise level). One way to prepare for ACCA or CAT exams is to choose an ACCA tuition provider. An ACCA tuition provider is an institution that conducts ACCA courses and training. Some providers offer distance-learning or home study courses. Students going for ACCA Qualification or CAT Qualification can also choose a classroom environment for a more hands-on and interactive experience and training.
ACCA maintains an online directory of ACCA tuition providers. It also has a special program to certify and recommend certain providers. ACCA’s Approved Learning Partner — Student Tuition program contains providers that have passed strict teaching requirements set up by ACCA for professional exam preparation (see Sources).
When using the directory, you will see Platinum or Gold as part in some of the listed ACCA courses. These are the Approved Learning Partners. When you see “Not applicable” in the results, that is not necessarily a bad thing. It just means that that tuition provider has not yet been recognized as an Approved Learning Partner.
Also keep in mind that most ACCA courses and providers are located in the United Kingdom. Some other countries place emphasis on ACCA certification. Those countries may or may not have ACCA tuition providers. However, there are several distance-learning options for those in other countries that choose to prepare for ACCA exams or CAT exams and ACCA certification.
First, head on over to the ACCA “Search Tuition Provider” page (see Sources). This page is the home page of the tuition-provider directory. Once there, you can do either a Quick Search on the home page or click “Advanced Search” to find the advanced-search page.
Search by country on the main page to get the maximum search results for a particular country. You may search for a particular ACCA provider if you know one by name. However, you should just search for all possible tuition providers if you are not sure which courses to attend.
Once you run a search, you will see the search results. These results of ACCA courses and providers contain the organization name, address, email, website, phone number and status (Platinum, Gold, etc.). Use the results to contact individual providers or at least visit their websites for additional information.
When using the “Advanced Search” page, you can separate out different ACCA and CAT courses and even select the delivery mode (classroom, self-study, distance learning, etc.) As with the Quick Search, use the search results to contact and choose individual ACCA tuition providers for your ACCA or CAT exams.
