These individual devil’s food cakes feature a creamy filling and chocolate icing and are sweet and flavorful snack cakes. Taste / Flavor
Several times now, I have purchased and eaten Hostess Chocolate Zingers. To me, they taste very much like chocolate flavored Hostess Twinkies, which makes sense, since both types of snack cakes are made by the same company.
The chocolate devil’s food cake base of the item is quite tasty on its own and the combination of white creamy filling and chocolate icing accentuate the cake very well. I must state however, that these snack cakes are quite sweet. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign these cakes a rating of nine.

The 5.7 ounce, single – serving Bonus Pack of Hostess Chocolate Zingers is packaged in a clear plastic wrapper with a largely – blue and yellow front label and a listing of all pertinent ingredient and nutritional on the rear label. The package opens easily, but does not necessarily re – close effectively.
Overall Rating
Hostess Chocolate Zingers are sweet and pleasant tasting snack cakes that are competitively – priced. These snack cakes are not as widely stocked as other Hostess items such as Twinkies, but they can often be found at convenience stores, pharmacies and smaller grocery stores. As an occasional snack or dessert item, Hostess Chocolate Zingers are recommended by this food writer.
