They can become that unexpected, embarrassing moment where everyone is staring at you. What are you doing? You … can’t stop hiccuping.

If you’ve experienced this, it’s time to find some definite home remedies that will take away hiccups. It’s like the noise that won’t stop. Believe me; I learned long ago that if there is one thing my kids love its hiccups. Yes, I did say love. You see, I learned when they were young several fabulous mom hiccup home remedy for hiccups. Yes, these are definitely mom-approved home remedy. Be prepared, once you teach your children these unique tricks, they will be coming back for me. Let me dive right into one of my all-time favorite hiccup home remedies.

What Are Hiccups?

Hiccups are caused from tiny or small spasm/contractions of your diaphragm. It feels like they are coming straight from your stomach and contract your hole body. The hiccups have a tendency to repeat several times in a minute. For more people, once they come, it feels like you can’t get rid of them. The hiccups are involuntary so you don’t always know when it is going to happen. They just come.

Hiccup Home Remedy: Peanut Butter
What you need: a Spoon & Peanut Butter
Directions:

I did say this was a mom approved home remedy didn’t I? The surest way to a kid’s heart is through food. Somehow, peanut butter must have fanciful ingredients that whisk the hiccups away. Because, I’ve used this for about fifteen years with both my children and it works every time.

When your child comes to you with hiccups, if they are like mine, they already have the spoon ready. You see, this hiccup home remedy is a kid appreciated home remedy. Children relish the thought that they could get hiccups just to be able to eat a spoonful of peanut butter in the middle of the day.

To get rid of hiccups, allow the child to have one full spoonful of peanut butter. Smooth peanut butter works best because it is smooth. The smoothness goes down their throat, almost coating their throat. Of course, this is a theory of why it works. What I know for certain is that it does work.

Hiccup Home Remedy Tip: The peanut butter usually needs to be somewhere out of little hands reach. It because like a prize (Even though it does work.)

Hiccup Home Remedy: Honey
What you need: a Spoon & Honey
Directions:

Honey is soothing and will slide down your throat. Hopefully, this will lessen the hiccups or get rid of them completely. If you don’t want to eat straight honey, try adding it to you a cup of hot tea. Let the honey seep in the tea for a minute or two. Then sip slowly.

Hiccups can be annoying but when you find a solution that works for you, you’ll go to it every time. Home remedies have been used for thousands of years and are proven remedies for many different issues.

Hiccup Home Remedy: Sugar
What you need: a Spoon & Sugar
Directions:

Sugar is an excellent hiccup remedy. Place a teaspoon of sugar into the spoon. Place the sugar right on your tongue. Let this dissolve naturally. Now take long and slow deep breaths. This is a great children hiccup home remedy. This can be done as many times as needed, but be careful because the sugar can make children hyper.
