Haiku Poems of Nature’s Overlooked Gifts

I have not written a Haiku in years and it was quite relaxing and enjoyable to get back in touch with nature on a different level. Nature’s gifts to us are plentiful but to know it we must visit it…even if it’s just our own backyard (or balcony, whatever the case may be). In today’s society we often forget to take time to breathe and enjoy life and the unusual, simple pleasures it has to offer us. Do you remember in childhood picking flowers, making mud pies and laying on your back for hours plucking images from the clouds? We’ve forgotten these playful indulgences in our fast paced world today. You don’t necessarily have to play with mud or bugs but please do, take a moment to buddy up with your inner child and enjoy life the good old fashioned way…being one with Mother Nature!

Angels are strangers

Who change our lives in passing.

Serendipity…

Golden Sunrise

The morning sun’s glow

Kisses the new day…

…Cherish each moment.

Spring Flowers

Welcome Bumblebee!

Ferry new life on your limbs.

Thank you for your touch.

A concrete jungle

In the concrete wall

A crack reveals a sprout.

Nature’s plight will persevere.

Peaceful slumber

Shrouds Clang on ships’ mast

Echoes that lull me to sleep.

Nighttime on the dock.
