Guest Bedroom Decorating Ideas

Bedroom Decorating, Bedroom Decorating Ideas

When a guest comes to your home you want the guest to be comfortable and to feel welcome. If your guest bedroom is not what you want it to be, it may be time to consider guest bedroom decorating. However, you probably do not want to spend a lot of money on decorating a guest bedroom, nor should you have to.

There are décor ideas that do not cost a lot of money and decorating a guest bedroom does not have to break the bank. Here you will find guest bedroom decorating ideas that are economical, functional and easy. Plus you and your guests will be happy with the results.

Twin Beds
Guests are not always comfortable sleeping in the same bed, an easy fix to this problem is to have twin beds in the guest room and if it so happens that your guests do want to sleep together, the twin beds could be pushed together.

Reading Materials
It is nice for guests to be able to look at magazines or read a book before going to bed or when taking a break in their room. Place a nice selection of books and magazines on the dresser or nightstand so that the reading material is readily available.

Pillows and More Pillows
Provide a few pillows with lovely pillowcases on the bed and also have extra pillows stored in an armoire or closet just in case more is needed. Some people like to rest their head on a couple pillows and I know people that sleep with pillows behind their back and between their legs. It is always better to have too many pillows than not enough and guests can always remove the pillows that they do not need.

Glass with Pitcher
You will make a guest feel so comfortable if you provide a glass with a pitcher filled with water on the night stand next to their bed. People get thirsty during the evening and sometimes guests do not feel comfortable walking through your home in the middle of the night. A glass with a pitcher of water is a wonderful, thoughtful touch and one that guests really appreciate, plus a glass and pitcher looks so pretty on a nightstand.

Flowers
How wonderful it is to come into a bedroom with a lovely vase of flowers, not only will it make your guests feel extra special but it also fills the guest bedroom with a wonderful fragrance. Do be sure to check that your guests do not have any type of flower allergies before placing flowers in their room.

Provide Lots of Hangers
Guests want to hang their clothes up so that the clothing does not become wrinkled, be sure to provide enough shirt and pant hangers in the closet. If you do not have a closet in the guest room, consider investing in an armoire where clothes can be hung and also pillows and blankets can be stored. Any type of hanger will do but if you really want to add pizzazz to the guest room, the fabric hangers are really beautiful.

Extra Toiletries
Think about how much a guest would appreciate you when travel size soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided on a lovely little tray in the guest bedroom. You may also want to consider providing a toothbrush and a travel size mouthwash, if your guests forgot any of these items they will be thrilled with your thoughtfulness. Plus toiletries on a pretty tray really help to accessorize the guest bedroom.

Luggage Rack
A luggage rack set up in the guest bedroom is a great place for your guests to place their suitcase. Not only will help it help to keep the suitcases out of the way but your guests will not have to lean all the way down to the floor to retrieve their items out of their suitcase. A luggage rack also acts as a piece of furniture so if you are looking for a low cost way to fill a corner or bare space, a luggage rack can do the trick.

Guest bedroom decorating can be aesthetically pleasing as well as functional, picture yourself as a guest and determine what you would love to see and have when walking into a guest bedroom. Then decorate your guest bedroom so that you wished you were the guest in it!
