I have a drawer full of greeting cards for every occasion: birthdays, holidays, Get Well, anniversaries, the list goes on and on. The nice thing is that all of the greeting cards that I have bought have allowed me to support some wonderful charities. Puppies Behind Bars
Puppies Behind Bars is a wonderful charity that uses inmates to raise puppies that will be used as service dogs for the disabled, as well as explosive detection canines for law enforcement agencies.
Puppies Behind Bars offers a wide variety of greeting cards on their website. Right now Christmas is just around the corner so they have a large selection of holiday cards, as well as notecards, and calendars.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation helps families dealing with Cystic Fibrosis in addition to searching for a cure for the disease. Cards Direct offers a wide selection of greeting cards, and twenty percent of all of the website’s sales go to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The ASPCA
The ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is one of my favorite charities. They are working to help pass humane laws and to prevent euthanasia of adoptable dogs. On the ASPCA website they offer an online store where you can purchase items that benefit the ASPCA. Among the many items they sell are Greeting Cards. As with Puppies Behind Bars the ASPCA also offers holiday cards for the upcoming holiday season. You can purchase a boxed set of holiday cards featuring either dogs or cats. There are sixteen holiday cards in each boxed set, and they sell for $17.99.
The Courage Center
The Courage Center is a charity that is near and dear to my heart, as I have a younger brother who has suffered from a brain injury. The Courage Center helps individuals with physical disabilities, brain injuries, speech or vision impairments, and hearing loss. The Courage Center has an online store where they also offer a very large selection of greeting cards. When you purchase greeting cards from the Courage Center one hundred percent of the net profits go to The Courage Center.
Farm Sanctuary
Farm Sanctuary is another charity that I like to support because it is a little known charity. Farm Sanctuary helps to rescue and provide refuge to farm animals that have been abused.
Farm Sanctuary offers a few cards on their website that you can purchase to help support the efforts of Farm Sanctuary. Currently on their website you can purchase two different types of holiday cards. The first set contains sixteen cards and sells for $18, and the second set contains twenty cards for just $20. If you are looking for postcards that can be used anytime of the year they also offer a set of five pig postcards for $1.
