Wikipedia defines the term “girly girl” as a slang term for a girl or woman who chooses to dress and behave in a traditionally feminine style. I’ve always associated girly girls with anything pink — whether it be clothes, accessories, shoes or handbags. I think this association may have been the product of watching Reese Witherspoon’s movie Legally Blonde more than once. I tried to look for the handbags best suited for the girly girl look and obviously, everything I chose just had to have a little bit or a lot of pink in them.
The most girly girl handbags I found were from the brand Juicy Couture. There was such a large collection of girly girl handbags in that brand that it was so hard to choose the most girly girl handbag that they have. I finally settled on this velour tote bag which, I think, is the perfect example of a girly girl handbag. This bag is pink all over, with a gold heart dangling from a gold chain on its strap. I said to myself, it can’t get any more girly girl than that! But don’t be deceived that such a cute bag can come cheap. This particular handbag from Juicy Couture retails at approximately $188, which in my opinion, is a lot of money for a pink bag that you can’t use everyday. However, if you do fancy this bag, you will also be pleased to know that this pink bag comes in a backpack version which is equally girly. The backpack version sells for just a few dollars more at $198.
If you’re a girly girl but you think that the Juicy Couture choices I listed above are too “cute” for your taste, you can take a look at this gorgeous Prada Vela tote in pink. I think it’s a classier girly girl bag and it will delight any fashionable woman with ultra-feminine taste. I love how simple the design is with the only accent to the handbag is the eye-catching color. It’s a lot more expensive than the Juicy Couture handbags as the Prada tote is priced at $690, but I think it’s a good investment. You can get more of your money’s worth by purchasing bags like this because you can use them more.
Another high-end designer bag which I found which will thrill women of all ages with girly girl taste is the Valentino Petale Flap Bag. There’s an actual leather petal in front on the bag’s flap which is done in the most tasteful manner. I love this flower petal detail and I think that the bag’s pink shade ties the feminine theme of the bag altogether. Instead of giving his girlfriend real flowers, a guy can give her this bag. It is available at Neiman Marcus for $1995.
If you don’t want an entire bag in pink and you just want an accent, you can also check out Coach’s Poppy Metallic Signature Sateen Highlight. The entire bag is in signature sateen but the leather trim is done in the most girly girl shade of pink. I like the subtle femininity of this bag. This Coach bag retails for $298.
