Giraffe Themed Goodies for Kindergarteners

Finger Puppets, Giraffes, Kindergarteners, Maracas

Have your kindergarteners been hard at work studying giraffes? Do you want to give them a themed goodie as a reward for successfully completing their work? If so, you may want to think about investing in one of the following items:

Pencil Toppers

Little giraffe pencil toppers are one item to consider giving your kindergarteners. Based on my experience, there are different types of toppers to choose from. For example, there are companies that sell pencil toppers that double as erasers. They tend to retail for $1 apiece. There are other companies that sell toppers made with felt. Among them are Embroidery Library, Inc. and Hill Country. Depending on the retailer, those toppers will typically cost you $1 to $3 each.

Pencil Cases

Homemade giraffe pencil cases are another goodie to consider handing out as rewards. In order to make them, you’ll need to buy blank pencil bags (canvas), yellow dye, brown fabric paint and craft sponges. Once you have your supplies in one spot, check out the instructions listed on the back of the dye box. Then follow those instructions and dye the canvas bags yellow. When the bags are dry, use the craft sponges and brown fabric paint to create giraffe-like spots all over the bag. Then let the paint dry. After the paint has finished drying, the pencil cases will be ready for distribution.

Note Pads

Giraffe themed note pads would make cute gifts too. You could opt to purchase sticky note pads or spiral note pads. Both contain images related to giraffes. The sticky note pads tend to sell for $9 a set whereas the spiral ones often retail for $6 a dozen. Two companies that sell the note pads are Colorful Images and Oriental Trading.

Maracas and Whistles

Want to give the kids a treat that they can use as part of a musical activity? If so, I’d suggest going with a pair of giraffe print maracas or whistles. The maracas that I am familiar with are made with hard, yellow plastic and feature brown giraffe-like spots. They tend to be available for purchase through toy stores for $3 a set. The whistles, on the other hand, typically retail for $5 a dozen. They are plastic, feature a giraffe print and a cord. You can generally buy them at select discount stores and toy shops. One company that sells them is U.S. Toy.

Finger Puppets

Lastly, you may want to kick around the idea of giving the children a giraffe finger puppet. Oftentimes, you can purchase two dozen vinyl puppets through party supply shops for around $8. There are also companies like Awana that sell fabric finger puppets for less than $2 apiece. In my opinion, the children are apt to appreciate receiving either one.
