Funniest Friends Episodes

Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt, Little Women

Everyone has seen at least one Friends episode sometime in their lives. It is almost impossible considering how many stations show it in syndication. However, if you haven’t, you’ve at least heard about it and understand the premise. This list is what I think are the funniest episode from each season. Watch these if you’ve never seen Friends before and you’ll be hooked!

Season 1: The One with the Birth.

Ross’s ex-wife, Carol, goes into labor, and all the friends convene at the hospital.

This one is great because it features Ross and Susan attempting to get along. Phoebe accompanies them and provides much of the comic relief, eventually helping determine the baby’s name.

Best moment: The nurse in this episode is the woman who plays Joey’s agent, Estelle, in later episodes!

Season 2: The One with the Prom Video.

Rachel discovers how Ross has always felt. Chandler and Joey become bracelet buddies!

I love this one because it is the first flashback episode. Overweight Monica, Ross’s ‘fro, and Rachel’s old nose!

Best moment: Phoebe’s last line of the episode, “He’s her lobster!”

Season 3: The One Where Monica and Richard Are Just Friends.

Monica tries to be friends with Richard even though she isn’t over him yet. Rachel and Joey swap favorite books.

This one is a favorite of mine because it involves books, but also for the comedy surrounding the trading of the books. Joey’s growing involvement in Little Women reaches hilarious heights.

Best Moment: When Joey ruins The Shining for Rachel, and she spoils Little Women for him, eliciting a hilarious reaction from Joey.

Season 4: The One with the Embryos.

The friends play a game of who knows who best, guys vs. girls. Meanwhile Phoebe gets implanted with her half brother and his wife’s embryos.

It was so hard choosing a best episode from season four. This was when the show really hit its stride and was churning out some great episodes!

Best Moment: The lightning round!

Season 5: The One Where Everybody Finds Out

Chandler and Monica’s secret is out but only Joey is supposed to know. Hijinks ensue as Chandler and Monica attempt to break Phoebe and Rachel into saying they know and vice versa!

Best moment: The scene during the credits when Ross sees Chandler and Monica together, “Get off my SISTER!”

Season 6: The One that Could Have Been Parts 1 & 2.

The friends think back to how things might have turned out if certain things hadn’t changed. Rachel marries Barry, Monica is still fat, Joey didn’t get fired from Days of Our Lives, Chandler is a writer, Phoebe works on Wall Street, and Ross is still married to Carol.

This was another hard one to pick. The sixth season has many great episodes. I chose this one because it is another flashback but with a fun twist.

Best Moment: The end when everything seems to be heading the way it actually did turn out.

Season 7: The One with the Truth About London.

The truth comes out about what happened in London between Monica, Chandler, and…Joey! Rachel teaches Ross’s son, Ben, practical jokes.

This one is great because we get to flashback to London and relive a little bit of the night Chandler and Monica got together.

Best Moment: The scene during the end credits when Ross and Ben play their own practical joke on Rachel!

Season 8: The One with the Rumor.

A pre-Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt guest stars during the Thanksgiving episode as an old high school classmate. He reveals that there was an “We Hate Rachel” club that Ross was a part of.

I love this episode. It is hilarious. Who knew Brad Pitt could be funny? And he gave Rachel a teeny-weeny!

Best Moment: Pretty much the whole episode!

Season 9: The One with Ross’s Inappropriate Song.

Ross makes Emma laugh by singing “Baby Got Back” and Rachel disapproves. Phoebe meets Mike’s parents and makes a bad first impression.

This one is great just for the fact that Ross raps “Baby Got Back” to make his daughter laugh. Also, Phoebe revealing a pimp once spit in her mouth. Great comedic moments in this one.

Best Moment: When Rachel breaks down and also raps “Baby Got Back” to make Emma laugh!

Season 10: The One Where the Stripper Cries.

Monica and Rachel hire a last minute stripper for Phoebe’s bachelorette party. Chandler and Ross go to a college reunion, sparking the final flashback episode.

I chose this one because it’s the last flashback episode but still as funny as the first! Danny Devito as the stripper is also priceless!

Best Moment: When Ross and Monica discover a disturbing aspect of their midnight kisses from the night of the flashback….they kissed each other!
