Not only do these events help you get the items you need to setup your home they also give you a chance to step back and enjoy this special time in your life. Put together a list of words related to the engagement, wedding, honeymoon, and marriage process and then scramble them up. Print them out on some paper and give the guests a predetermined amount of time to figure out what the words are. You can have as many or as few words as you choose. You can also look up words on the internet so the amount of work you would need to do would be minimal and the cost would only be the paper to print them out on.
The Price Is Right
Gather several household items or purchase new ones such as soaps and cleaners, food products and lawn care items. Have the guests determine the total cost of all the items together and the person who is closest to the total price without going over is the winner. You can then give the bride the items as a gift to help her start her household necessities inventory.
Wedding Sculpting
This is especially fun if you will have a lot of younger guests at your bridal shower. Get enough play dough so every guest can have a good size piece. You can get 6 small containers for a dollar at the dollar store. Ask them all to sculpt something related to the wedding process, your honeymoon, or marriage. Some ideas would be a wedding cake, a boat if you are going on a cruise, or a ball and chain for marriage. The bride gets to choose the winner for the most creative or the best sculpted.
Wedding Trivia
You can look up some history of weddings on the internet and then create a fill in the blank or multiple choice questionnaire about engagements and weddings and the person who gets the most correct wins.
Bridal Bingo
Create Bingo cards from the items the bride and groom have on their registry. During the shower if the bride opens a gift that is on your bingo card then you get to mark it off. This is fun because the guests still get to play a game while the bride is opening her gifts.
There are hundreds of games out there that you can play at your bridal shower. Have fun and be creative with the ones you choose. Most likely every one on your bridal shower guest list has been to a bridal shower already. They do not want to play the same games over and over again. Make sure you choose prizes that you know your guests will want as well. Yes it may cost you more in the end but think about it, every guest will bring the bride a present that will likely cost twenty dollars or more, should you really buy some cheap trinket from the dollar store as their prize?
