Baby Shower games are one of the highlights to baby showers. Many guest look forward to winning at these games. They provide fun and great ways to make new friends. The Mommy to be will be thrilled if you have games at her next baby shower. You will need to have prizes for the winners of your games and maybe a nice door prize. I always buy a few extra prizes incase there is a tie during one of the games.
Door Prize
I once seen this at a baby shower and thought it was an awsome idea. The door prize was a gift card for $20 bucks to a local resturant. You can do anything you want. When the invites are sent out write on the card Bring a pack of diapers to be entered into the door prize. Or could be bring a pack of wipes. You will want it to be something the baby uses a lot of. If they bring diapers have some get bigger sizes. Then have a table set up for people to set down the item they bought and give them a raffle ticket or have them write their name on a pice of paper and throw it into a bowl. Before everyone leaves draw a name and that person gets a door prize.
You will need to have each letter of the alphabet printed out on a piece of paper. Then set a timer for 5 minutes and see who can think of baby items that start with all the letters of the alphabet. When the timer goes off see who has the most listed and they get a prize.
This is one of the funniest games I have seen played. Buy a bunch of baby bottles and some juice or water. We did the 4 oz bottles, but you can choose anyone you want. Give everyone a baby bottle and have a drink off. See who can finsih the bottle the fastest. That person gets a prize.
You will need enough jars of baby food and spoons. I would suggest fruits as most adults dont like smushed vegatables. You will also need bibs for half the guest. The spoons and bibs can be saved for the baby when everyone is done. YOu will need to group everyone off in pairs of twos. Make sure you have a camera ready for this one. Blind fold one person and place a bib on the other. The person who is blindfolded should feed the person with the bib . The team who finsihes first wins. GIve each player of the winning team a small prize. Then have the teams switch positions and play again.
Spare change
Let everyone know ahead of time to bring some spare change with them. We do all silver change but you could do pennies if you want. Get a large baby bottle bank, or something similar for baby. Set the bank on the table and let everyone know anytime they say baby they have to put money into the bank. When the party is over have the guest guess how much money is in the bank and the person closets wins a prize. Give the mommy to be the bank with the money and have her start a savings account for the little one. Its fun if you add another word in there to.
