My children play sports all summer long, and can easily become overheated in the scorching North Carolina heat. As a Mom, I try my best to keep them hydrated and cool, but it’s not always easy. When I first heard about it, I wasn’t sure if it would actually work, but I was curious enough to go out and purchase one.

The Chilly Pad is about the size of a regular hand towel, but the material it’s made of is actually thinner. All Chilly Pads are available in solid colors, with the trademark Frogg Toggs logo in the corner. The cooling towel comes in a hard clear plastic tube, which can be used to store the Chilly Pad later on.
When you open your Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad for the first time, you’ll notice that it feels moist. Don’t be concerned, this is normal. Before you use it, it needs to be rinsed in warm water. Allow it to dry. When it dries, something odd happens. The towel becomes stiff as a board! You can literally pick the towel up and bang it on the table. Yet, when you run the towel under water, it immediately loosens up and takes on the shape of a regular towel.
Once you get the Chilly Pad wet, it’s ready to keep you cool. As long as it stays wet, it will keep you cool. In fact, the temperature of the cooling towel actually seems to get colder the longer you have it on your body. Although YOUR body temperature is hot, the Chilly Pad stays nice and cold and will quickly have you feeling cool and refreshed.
When the Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad is wet, is resembles a regular towel. The material is lightweight, and remains light even when it is wet. You can keep it wrapped around your neck, or around your shoulders, and no one will know that you are using the towel to stay cool. When you’re Chilly Pad gets dirty, just throw it in the washing machine. It washes just like any other towel, and comes out looking nice and clean. I was so impressed with the Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad that I went out and bought another so that both my children can have one of their own. My children are tough on their things, and the Chilly Pads have been through the dirt, shoved in backpacks, left on the porch, and still it remains looking brand new. The Chilly Pad is durable and is easy to use and keep clean.
