I have been crocheting for many years. For a busy body like myself, it has been a great stress reliever. Over the years I have developed a love for the art of crochet and have created many patterns, one of those patterns is a lovely cap. This hat was inspired by my friend Mea.

Materials:
4 ply knit and crochet yarn – 1
Red heart 100% Acrylic Fiber
Size J Hook
2″ black button
Directions:
Start: Chain 4 and slip stitch in the beginning of the first chain.
Round 1: 12 half double crochet in circle.
Round 2: 2 half double crochet in each stitch across.
Round 3: Half double crochet in next 3 stitches and then 2 half double crochet in next stitch Repeat around.
Round 4-15: Half double crochet in next 4 stitches (increase 1 by each round.), 2 half double crochet in next stitch Repeat around.
Round 16: Half double crochet in next 10sts, decrease. Repeat around.
Round 17: Half double crochet in next 5 stitches, decrease. Repeat around.
Round 18: Half double crochet in next 3 stitches, decrease. Repeat around.
Round 19: Half double crochet in next 2 stitches, decrease. Repeat around.
Round 20: Half double crochet in each stitch around.
Round 21: Single in each stitch around.
Round 22: Single in 10 stitches, decrease in next. Repeat around.
Round 23: Single in next 15 stitches, decrease in next. Repeat around.
Round 24: Single in each stitch around.
Round 25: Single in next 10 stitches, decrease. in next. Repeat around.
Round 26: Single in each stitch around.
Flower:
Start: Chain 8, pull a thread up and join with slip stitch to form a ring.
Round 1: Chain 1, working in ring, 1 single, 1 half double crochet, 4 dc, 1 half double crochet, 2 single, 1 half double crochet, 4 dc, 1 half double crochet, 1 single, slip stitch on the 1st sc. (16 stitches)
Round 2: Chain 1, single in same stitch, (Chain 3, skip one stitch, single on next stitch) repeat around, join. (8 ch-3 loops)
Round 3: [(Single, half double crochet, 3 dc, half double crochet, single) in ch-3 loop, slip stitch in single] repeat around, join. (8 petals)
Round 4: Chain 1, still faces front, work the next stitches at the back of round 3 petals, (single on the next available stitch from round 1, chain 5) repeat around, join. (8 ch-5 loops)
Round 5: (Single, half double crochet, 5 dc, half double crochet, single) in each ch-5 loop around, join. (8 petals)
Fasten off and weave in ends and sew on hat.
