If you are going to have a 4th of July party, you must have alcohol drinks to fit the occasion. Here are a few must haves to add to the fun of the celebration.
Fourth of July Cocktail
1 oz light rum
2 oz vodka
½ oz milk
1 tablespoon sugar
Pinch of lemon
Lemon peel
Combine all ingredients except the peel in shaker with ice. Shake well. Pour in glass and garnish with lemon peel. This is one that fits the occasion to a T.
Celebration
2 ½ parts gold rum
1 part brandy
1 part triple sec
1 part lemon juice
5 drops orange bitters
1 lemon peel per glass
Pour liquid ingredients and ice in shaker and mix. Strain and out into a cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon peel and let the Celebration begin.
Sunny Delight
1 shot triple sec
3 shots lemon vodka
1 slice lemon
Orange juice as desired
1 shot club soda
Pour triple sec and vodka in mason jar type glass. Squeeze lemon and then wipe rim of the glass with lemon. Fill almost to top with Orange juice and add shot of club soda. This is soothing, relaxing and fabulous for a holiday in the sun.
American Flyer
1 ½ oz light rum
1 tablespoon lime juice
½ teaspoon sugar syrup
Champagne
Shake the run and lime juice with ice. Strain and out into a wine glass. Top off with champagne. A great American drink on a great American holiday.
Boston Tea Party
½ oz gin
½ oz rum
½ oz vodka
½ oz triple sec
½ oz amaretto
½ oz coffee liqueur
½ oz orange liqueur
2 oz sweet and sour mix
5 oz cola
1 lemon wedge
Combine all ingredients except cola and lemon wedge with ice and shake well. Pour in tall glass and top with cola and lemon wedge. This is strong but so was the Boston Tea Party.
Victory Collins
1 ½ oz vodka
3 oz lemon juice
3 oz unsweetened grape juice
1 tsp powdered sugar
1 slice orange
Shake all ingredients except orange slice with ice. Strain and out in Collins glass. Add slice of orange on top and serve. A definite victory!!
Allies Cocktail
1 oz dry vermouth
1 oz gin
½ teaspoon caraway liqueur
Stir all ingredients with ice. Strain and pour in glass. If they are an ally, they deserve a drink on the 4th of July.
War Cloud
½ oz vodka
½ oz brandy
½ oz Kahlua
½. A nice smooth war cloud that is great following fireworks.
½ oz Kahlua coffee liqueur
¼ oz amaretto
¼ oz Frangelico hazelnut liqueur (Amazing stuff)
¼ oz de crème de cacao
Mix and chill all ingredients before serving. Then pour in glass over ice. What is better on a 4th of July then fulfilling the American Dream?
Bomb Pop
2 oz raspberry vodka
4 oz lemonade
1 splash blue curacao
Combine all ingredients with ice. Shake and pour over ice in glass. This is explosive and goes great while watching the fireworks explode!!
These are my 4th of July recommendations. Don’t drink them all, but find one that works with what your guests like.
