Flanders Buttocks Ointment: The Ultimate Diaper Rash Ointment

Cod Liver Oil, Desitin, Diaper Rash, Diaper Rash Ointment

With such an overwhelming variety of products available for baby, a new mom can easily feel exasperated when it comes to making a simple decision, like how do I choose a product for diaper rash?

Friends and family members always have suggestions, and a new mom is bombarded by free samples, coupons, and buy 1 get 1 free offers. Baby products also make great gift items so a new mom can usually sample the wares of a host of various products for her little one’s cute little tushy-tush.

My Testimonial and Product Review

In fact, my own experience with diaper rash ointments was very similar. I received a variety of diaper rash creams, diaper rash lotions, and diaper rash ointments as shower gifts. I purchased a few more diaper rash products with coupons, and I tried the vast majority of them at one time or another. In addition, I worked as an Assistant Director at a day care center for several years so I was already well aware of the opinions of our parents and which products they preferred to use when treating diaper rash. So, I considered myself a very informed consumer.

However, my opinions on diaper rash products quickly changed when my second child was born with incredibly sensitive skin. The first day home from the hospital I used a name brand diaper that I had received as a shower gift. My son was allergic to the diaper and overnight he ended up with a severe diaper rash. His entire bottom was red, cracked, and even bleeding!

When I took him back to the hospital for his three day check-up, a wonderful nurse cringed when she saw his raw bottom. She asked what diaper rash ointment I was using and I told her the products that I had on hand. She kindly shook her head and retrieved a tube of Flanders Buttocks ointment. She immediately put some of the Flanders ointment on his bottom, saying it was the only product I’d ever need and that I’d thank her for it later.

The tube of Flanders Buttocks Ointment came home with us that day and literally overnight my son’s bottom cleared up. No more diaper rash! I was stunned. Most diaper rashes of the sort, and I’ve seen quite a few in my time, took days to heal up if not a week. I was so impressed with this product that I’ll never use anything else.

If I had to choose one, and only one diaper rash product to keep in my diaper bag, Flanders Buttocks Ointment would be it. In comparison to Desitin, A&D;, Aveeno, and a slew of other diaper rash creams and ointments, I’d still choose the Flanders Buttocks Ointment hands down.

Product Description

Flanders Buttocks Ointment comes in a 4 ounce tube and the ointment is light tan in color. Its consistency is similar to really thick toothpaste.

It does have a light scent that reminds me of oatmeal and Vaseline, however the scent is mild and not overpowering.

The product should be kept out of reach of children. The back of the tube does advise that it may stain clothing, though I did not find that to be an issue.

Where to Buy Flanders Buttocks Ointment

Since this came recommended to me by a nurse at the hospital where my child was born, I first suggest asking your doctor or a nurse in the Labor and Delivery area. I received my first tube for free, and had it not been given to me I sincerely would never have known about this incredible product.

You can purchase Flanders Buttocks Ointment online for under $6 for a 4 ounce tube.

Flanders Buttocks Ointment can also be found at some drugstores and pharmacies. To help you locate a retailer there is a helpful tool found online at the Flanders Buttocks Ointment website.

Every Baby is Different

Since every baby is different you still might need to try out a few different types of diaper rash ointment to find what product works best for your baby.

I certainly wish I’d started my diaper rash ointment search with Flanders first. It would have saved my baby’s bottom a lot of unnecessary redness and soreness throughout the process of experimenting with all the others.
