Fasting for Rapid Weight Loss

Rapid Weight Loss

Have you ever tried diet after diet and you lose so slowly that you cave and give it up because it is so slow! We live in a faced pace society. We don’t like to wait on things and therefore it makes dieting even more painful. A healthy way to lose weight is to lose 1 lb a week and eat salads and low fat, low carb stuff…. Well, when you have over 30 lbs to lose that seems like a whole half year to lose what you need. Of course, if you resort to fasting then folks will say you will gain it all back real quick but I beg to differ. If you only have a few pounds to lose and you fast for a week and its gone then chances are yes, you may gain it all back very quickly. However, if you have a lot of weight to lose then if you lose it all fasting within a month then while you may regain 5 or so lbs, as long as you keep up with a sensible diet you will remain much lighter.

When you fast on liquids only you can expect to lose 1 lb per day. If you fast for 20 days then you will more than likely shed 20 lbs during that time. This is what I did. I shed it and kept it off by eating sensible and yet splurging when I felt like it. While I lost 1 lb or more a day on this 20 day fast, its not exactly your typical cleansing fast as I did include coffee and such. I wasn’t going for a detox effect but for rapid weight loss. The urge to eat was extremely powerful almost every evening. I had a difficult time not eating especially when I would cook delicious meals for my husband and daughter. The smell of food cooking always drove me insanely hungry but I knew this was rapid and I would be done within 20 days and maybe 30 if I wanted to go for even more. It was so quick that I was able to keep up with it. Before I knew it my pants were hanging off me, my shirts too big. Every morning when I woke up I felt lighter and I saw, each day, my stomach shrinking. With such a short amount of time and weight dropping off, it made it much easier.

Here is what a typical day would look like for me.

Morning time I would wake up and have my cup of Jo (Coffee) and as the morning progressed I would blend up a mixture of frozen fruit with a high protein powder and splash of Slim Fast Very Vanilla powder (because I love the taste), Ambrotose powder and a gallop of frozen orange concentrate and then fill the blender with distilled water and vanilla or chocolate soy milk. Blend it smooth and light. Sip on this really cold energy drink during the morning or, if I was really hungry I’d gulp it down.

Sometime in the early afternoon I’d mix a packet of EmergencE’ with water and gulp down 7 or 8 EarthRise Spirulina tablets for tons of natural energy.

Mid day I would drink a very watered down cup of boxed Lipton cream of chicken soup or add a ¼ cup Tomato soup to lots of hot water and drink down. Or, I might make a strawberry smoothie depending on my mood. If I made a smoothie during mid day I was known to squirt a wee bit of chocolate syrup on it and yes, I still lost my 1 lb for the day because all in all, I was having under 800 calories and under 10 grams of fat.

If I was out and about I could be seen slipping into Starbucks for a Venti Nonfat Strawberries and Cream Frappucina with a shot of expresso.

Currently, I feel better, I am maintaining by eating a diet that consists of under 30 grams of fat daily….LOVE Subway! I also enjoying eating at Sonic or Chili’s here and there. Now that all the weight is gone, I am managing it.
I do not recommend my type fasting to anyone with a medical condition or any illness or health issues. This is my own personal testimony on fasting and rapid weight loss and it works for me. For a more healthier approach, cut out the coffee part and the chocolate syrup splurge and fast on fruit and vegetable juice and once again, if you have health concerns, ask your doctor first.
