Farewell to ‘Super Mario Bros Z’

Well, on March 26, some very heavy news was delivered for fans of the ever popular animated web series, “Super Mario Bros Z.” Unfortunately, the series has been laid to the rest by its creator, Alvin-Earthworm. As a final farewell to the fans of his series, Mr. Earthworm has released the first scene from Episode 9, which reveals who saved Mario. I wasn’t surprised about it, but there was another development that I wish would have been completed, I won’t spoil it for those who have yet to see it.

Though the series is done, that doesn’t mean that the story has concluded. Another animator, LinkG09, has put together a team to work on a series that I assume would follow the story line of “SMBZ.” The name of his series in production is “Super Mario Bros Z Kai.” My thought is that this series would be very similar to what “Dragon Ball Z Kai” is to “Dragon Ball Z,” an enhanced version with additional content.

The series “Mega Sonic Bros AF” is also still in production, though it has been delayed a bit. On the Youtube channels RPGfan2005 (the creator’s general page) and MegaSonicBrosAF2005 (the series page) more information can be found as well as the episodes of the series. I have also heard that another similar series “Nintegaball GT” is going back into production. The last I saw of it, there was only one episode in the intended series.

So even with Alvin-Earthworm removing himself from the sprite animation scene, there is still plenty on the horizon for spectators to view. And if you were a fan of Mr. Earthworm’s artwork as well, you can see his new stuff on his new DeviantArt page Rukaisho. Though be warned, this account was made to be completely separate from his previous account. He wants this account to be purely for his artwork, with no mention of the now retired “SMBZ”. Those who do so are being banned from commenting on anything in his new account.

Goodbye to “Super Mario Bros Z”, you will forever be engraved in the hearts of your viewers. And again thank you to Alvin-Earthworm for creating the series.
