Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds Split

Melanie Brown

Well, all the canoodling on the still French-occupied island of Bora Bora couldn’t sustain the two week marriage of actor Eddie Murphy and television producer Tracey Edmonds. Edmonds has released a statement that her and Murphy will continue their relationships as mere friends.

The Coming to America star and the ex-wife of producer songwriter Babyface-who may not have been as hot of a star as Murphy for the ambitious Edmonds have now gone their merry ways.

Murphy’s ex’s: the amazing baby producing former gorgeous model, Nicole Murphy and new found friend, other instant baby producer -Pop singer, Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown had harsh words and a warning for the ambitious Edmonds.

Edmonds defended her man against various accusations but primarily abandoning Brown while she was pregnant,. Murphy’s ex wife, Nicole sarcastically told Emonds “Good luck” as she dined with Brown on a hollywood afternoon.

As Brown endured a public humiliation of denials from Murphy who claimed he did not father her daughter, Angel Iris, Tracey Edmonds cozily accompanied him to event after event. Edmonds went as far as to suggest that Brown was a mere fling by saying Brown had “been in a quick relationship with Murphy.”

Brown had learned that she had been dumped by Murphy after he conducted an interview on Dutch television. Brown who was entering her third trimester of the pregnancy was shocked by what friends told her Murphy had said on television. He denied even knowing who the father of the child could be.

The singer was even more blindsided because she had assumed her and Murphy were still a couple. Brown found out later that night that she been quickly replaced when Murphy attended the Dream Girls premiere with Tracey Edmonds beaming by his side.

I am obviously upset and distressed at some of the comments made by Eddie Murphy to the media,” she had said. Murphy had even insinuated that Brown might have cheated on him. Brown was completely flabbergasted by the accusations that she was loose or ever unfaithful to Murphy.

She adamantly denied the accusations and was certain by all means that her former boyfriend was the father of her child. She believed he had simply fallen in love with Edmonds while she was gone.

After Brown retained the fearful no nonsense, Gloria Allred as her attorney, Murphy was forced to do a paternity test that concluded that the box office star was indeed the father like Brown had stated for months.

The results did not discourage Edmond’s who continued to happily escort Murphy to awards shows. Edmond’s relationship with Murphy attracted new interest in the mainstream press about who she was.

After the roller coaster of humiliation and various accusations that Brown was loose or trying to get Murphy for money, Brown successfully moved on with her career and child who Murphy had no interest in being involved with.

“My main concern is for the well being of my (seven-year-old) daughter Phoenix and of course the baby.” she had said to CNN

Brown later stole the spotlight on Dancing With the Stars and transformed her baby weight to a well toned body, becoming a stylish presence in the media.

In truth, Brown is rich in her own right. The Spice Girls lead singer is also a songwriter earning lucrative publishing royalties as well as merchandising income for her brand with the group. The group has sold over 55 million albums worldwide and continues to sell out concerts across the globe.

Brown is a graduate of Intake Performing Arts high school in Leeds, West Yorkshire. She was nicknamed Scary Spice by the British press for her “in your face- confrontational you don’t want it with me” outrageous attitude and her outlandish style that she has since toned down.

The vocalist is the product of American Idol Svengali, Simon Fuller who put together the Spice Girls. Fuller was the A&R; executive at Chrysler who placed Madonna’s first hit “Holiday,” for the label. He created Idol in 1998 and sold the American version to Fox.

Fuller owns 19 management that oversees the career of many of the idols. He also discovered and produced Amy Winehouse. He continues to oversee the management of various songwriters as well as supermodel, Claudia Schiffer, Annie Lennox, a British soccer team and super client David” kick em straight to the curb like” Beckham.

Surely all the rumors, attempted damage to her reputation and the drama was a blessing in disguise for Melanie Brown who transformed the humiliation into a positive. The Spice Girls sold out all their concerts and after Dancing With the Stars, Brown is in high demand on television and has now been training as an actress.

Perhaps even the good luck Nicole Murphy had wished for Edmonds couldn’t save her union with the star.
