Easy Wedding Favors

Do it Yourself Wedding

Weddings are expensive and more than likely you are tapped out of money for the wedding favors. You cannot afford them. Do not worry because you will develop wrinkles. The problem is not having any wedding favors and the solution is to make some wedding favors.

DIY wedding favors add a personal flair to any wedding. However, most brides-to-be claim that they are not creative enough to come up with some ideas or even to craft things. Hogwash! Anyone can come up with some ideas and then craft those ideas. Here are some suggestions that just might inspire the brides-to-be to make their own wedding favors.

Candles
You really can’t go wrong with candles. Almost every household has candles. The best part is that you can make your own candles. The search engines provides tons of information on making candles, just put in “how to make a candle” and look at all the information available to you. Pick a site and follow the directions that are given and then pour the wax into some shells. Then wrap the shells in tulle (the colors of your wedding) and tie off with some ribbon.

Sachets
These are extremely easy to make and they smell good too. Purchase some potpourri (in large quanties) and divide the potpourri up into small cloth bags. Then tie off with a ribbon and add a tag.

You can even make a “mini” basket with incense, potpourri and a small candle. This will surely get used because what person doesn’t like smell goods?

Coasters
Get a cookie cutter in the shape of a bell. Then press the cookie cutter into a corkboard. Decorate the corkboard with message stickers, alphabet stickers, paint, glitter, etc. Then laminate the coaster. Put into a small gift box and give to the guests.

Chocolate
Who doesn’t love chocolate? This wedding favor is a sure winner for the guests. To make the chocolate more interesting get some plastic, clear spoons. Put two chocolate kisses on each spoon. Wrap the spoon with the chocolate in tulle and tie off with a ribbon. Decorate the handle of the spoon with your name and the date. Or you can even write “From this day forward” with the date. It really depends on you.

Baked Goods
Bake some sugar cookies in the shape of a bell. Decorate with a monogram of your last name initial. Decorate a small box and put the cookie in. You have just created a unique and edible wedding favor.

Summertime Wedding Favors
If your wedding is in the spring or summer time, an idea for a wedding favor would be some flower seeds. Then wrap in tulle and ribbon. This is by far the simpliest wedding favor.

Wintertime Wedding Favors
If your wedding is in the winter then get some packets of hot chocolate or apple cider and wrap in tulle. Then put the package is a coffee mug ($1 at the Dollar Tree) and finish it off with some ribbon.

Christmastime Wedding Favors
This is a fun way to give wedding favors for the Christmas weddings. Buy some ornaments (there is so many colors that you are surely to find some close to your wedding colors) and add chocolate to them. All you do is carefully remove the hanger and fill with chocolate. Then return the hanger in place. Decorate the ornament with a say or your names and the date. Make sure you tell everyone that there is chocolate inside.
