My husband and I don’t get out much. When we do, it’s generally nothing fancy. So, when his Christmas party for work comes up, every year it’s the same scramble for me to find something stylish, dressy and modest to wear. It’s not an easy task. The stores are filled with “holiday clothing” but, for this event I really prefer to not be covered in sequins or have a three inch long skirt. This year I am really looking forward to the party because I have a new outfit from one of my new favorite places to shop for women’s clothes!
Down East Basics is an absolutely wonderful place to find everything from a basic tee to a dress you’ll be anxious to wear for your holiday parties. The prices are as modest as the clothing. I love everything about this place. The clothes are all incredibly chic and promise to become the classic pieces in your wardrobe that you’ll wear for years to come. I love that everything is stylish without being too trendy. It’s frustrating to make a clothing purchase only to find that it’s gone out of style the next season. These pieces are classy and classic.
Down East Basics sent me their Black Tie Skirt and their One of a Kind Top. Oh, how I love both of these items. The top is dressy enough to pair with a skirt or dress pants but, also looks amazing with a nice pair of jeans. I love having tops like that in my closet because I’m a jeans wearing kind of girl. The fabric is soft and flowing and so very comfortable. The v-neckline and smocking detail make it very flattering on any body. Mine is the Snow color and I love it’s creaminess.
The Black Tie Skirt is lovely. My favorite thing about it is the low-rise. I’m a huge fan of anything low-rise because it’s more comfortable for me and this skirt, while dressy and elegant, is certainly comfortable. The velvet red trim gives it just the right finishing touch to kick it up a notch and make it, in my eyes, “holiday dressy. I’m so excited that after two years of wearing pants, this year I have a skirt I like enough to wear to the Christmas party.
There are so many other items at Down East Basics that I adore. Really, I adore it all. The dresses are gorgeous and very reasonably priced. There are cute casual dresses and “knock ’em dead” dresses to choose from.
Down East Basics also has items for the little girls. I absolutely want every one of these pieces for my daughter. The dresses, skirts and tops for the little girls are way too precious.

The Classic Cord Coat looks like the perfect coat for any outfit and all the jewelry, totes and other accessories are so fantastic. There are so many accessories that I’d love to add to my collection.
Down East Basics is definitely a place I recommend for women’s clothing. Not only do I love their stylish women’s clothing but, I love their affordable prices.
