Wellness Dog Food Review

There is no corn listed in this product. I have really enjoyed testing this dog food. There should be more products available for us like this one. I had to drive nearly two hours from my remote town to get a bag of this great product. Of course, I could have ordered on-line and saved the drive, but I wanted to check out the other great stuff they had. There are no recalls or Class Actions against this company.

The Wellness people also make cat food and treats for your pets.

**If price and packaging were not part of the testing this would have easily be a 10+ product. Pricing of a product isn’t a good reflection on the actual cost of feeding a product. Pets don’t require as large of a feeding of a quality product such as Wellness Pet Foods.

Readers,

I wrote to the Old Mother Hubbard company asking about where their products were packaged. I’ve decided to share the emails with you:

Dear Susan,

Thank you for taking the time to write about Wellness products.

All of our foods are manufactured in the United States and Canada.

Our manufacturing partner information is proprietery. However we would like to let you know that our manufacturing partners make our recipes according to our quality and ingredient standards.

We have strict procedures in place at ALL of our manufacturing facilities to clean between each run of food that is produced. We also inspect the plant regularly to audit ALL their procedures. Since we take our quality very seriously we go above and beyond what is expected in the industry. We are happy to tell you that we require our facilities to pass an audit by Cook & Thurber, a HUMAN FOOD auditing firm. They have a great website that explains what they do and their strict requirements.

Thanks again for contacting us.

Heather,

Thanks for the reply and the information about your high standards of production. I did not realize you have so many producers. I do find myself concerned about cross-contamination, I would be interested in what other products these producers package.

I must admit this is a big surprise to me to learn your company doesn’t care to share any information about the packaging. If you have any addional information, please share.

Thanks,

Susan Peters
