What you need:
Rectangular board
Nails
Hammer
String
Letter stencils
Pencil
1) Arrange the stencils on the board so that they spell out the last name of guy receiving the gift.
2) Mark the letters on the board by placing dots along the edges of the stencil. Do not trace the stencils, but place dots instead.
3) Hammer nails to each dot to mark the letters. It will look like a nailed mess so keep the stencils handy as a guide.
4) Tie string to one of the nails and then wrap the string around the nails near it in any random pattern. Keep wrapping the string around the nails until the letter is visible. Use the stencils as a guide if you get confused about what nails to wrap. Tie the string on the last nail and cut the remaining thread.
5) Repeat with the rest of the letters on the board.

Personalized Coffee Mugs Using Sharpies
Decorate coffee mugs with Sharpie markers for a personalized mug. Let a kid decorate the mug for daddy and put “daddy” on the handle. Make two “his and hers” mugs for Valentine’s Day. Use stencils for fancy designs that they guy will like or freehand the art for a more personal feel.
Make the Sharpie decorated mug permanent by baking it in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Let the mug cool. It is now washable and the Sharpie marks will remain.
