Diane Warren: Songwriter and Inspiration

Ginuwine, Paul Stanley, Trisha Yearwood

Diane Eve Warren is one of the most successful songwriters of all time. Too me she is a hero, and someone who I look up to and admire. I would love to achieve just a portion of the hits and success her music has garnered. Diane Eve Warren was born in Van Nuys, California, on September 7, 1956. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley. In 1983, she began working as a staff writer for Jack White. Jack White was a producer who asked Warren to write English lyrics for a French song. It was just 24 hours later that she turned in the song named Solitaire. The song became a top ten hit . Solitaire took number seven in the Unites States pop charts in 1983. The song was recorded by Laura Branigan.Three years later, she wrote Rhythm of the Night, which hit number three on the pop charts and number one of the adult contemporary chart. She has written over 80 songs that have charted into the top 10!

To date her songs have received six Academy Award nominations, four Golden Globe nominations, and seven Grammy Award nominations. In 2001, she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Her songs are known to deal with romantic themes though Warren admits she has never been in love. “She is dubbed Queen of the Ballad”.

In 2004 she released a compilation album of love songs. The album was named Warren Presents Love Songs. In 2008 Warren, helped Ashanti with her new album The Declaration, released on June 3, 2008.
