Dewey Beach, DE for Dining, Nightlife and Watersports!

Beach Bars, Night Life, Rehoboth, Rehoboth Beach

Dewey Beach, DE is minutes away from beautiful Rehoboth Beach, and it holds some of the best nightlife, watersports and dining options!

When you first arrive in Dewey Beach Delaware, you may not know which way to look first. The ocean is located on one side while the bay is on the other. Dewey is very narrow. (Only about the size of two or three blocks from the ocean to bay side!)

Just like in Rehoboth, you will need a parking permit to park on the street. If you are staying in Rehoboth, it’s easier to take the Jolly Trolley from the Avenue right into Dewey. There are frequent stops along the Dewey Beach main Highway, so you can get off where you wish.

The Dewey Beach strip is busy and full of hotels and places to eat. Stop and check out the beach, which is wider than Rehoboth! (Can you believe that?) There seems to be a lot more room to spread out and relax.

Up and down the Dewey Beach strip are small beach shops. Check out the Electric Banana at Dagsworthy Street or stop by the Dewey Beach Hut at Bellevue Street. The options are endless!

When you start to get hungry, stop at Sharkey’s Grill at 1508 Highway One on the ocean side. They have some of the best breakfast and lunch sandwiches you will ever taste. There is also an outdoor eating area.

You can also try Nalu Hawaiian Surf Bar And Grill located at 1306 Highway One. Choose to sit inside or outside on the deck in this open air bar and grill.

There’s also the famous Grotto Pizza and Chicken Ed’s Seafood Shack, which has some of the best crabs you will taste.

On the opposite side of the ocean side is the bay. This is where all the action happens! Head down to Dickinson Street where you will find “Ruddertowne.” There’s a number of dining options and watersports available. From jet skis, to trampolines in the water, to parasailing, it’s all here.

Check out the small boardwalk shops and stop at the Lighthouse Restaurant for a drink or lunch on the deck. You can also walk over to the Rusty Rudder deck (Directly across from the Lighthouse) and enjoy a nice cold drink while overlooking the bay. There is even a pier you can walk out on.

When evening arrives, Rusty Rudder serves up some delicious food and the famous, “All You Can Eat Land And Sea Buffet.” Many vacationers come here for the buffet alone. The food isn’t all though! The deck is open during the season too, so you can enjoy delicious alcoholic beverages inside or out. There’s always some sort of live band, and you can enjoy some of the best sunsets on the bay.

When night arrives, the Rusty Rudder turns into a night club with music and dancing.

Looking for other night life options? The bay side houses many of the Dewey Beach bars and night life. Walk down the strip and you’re sure to find a number of options. Be sure to check out the Starboard and Bottle & Cork. These are two of the most hopping places in Dewey.

No wonder so many people say, “We’re doing it in Dewey!”
