Clothing Review: The North Face Women’s Venture Rain Jacket

North Face, The North Face

With April showers coming soon, many people are wondering what jacket is right for them for wet weather and rain. Most people opt for rain jackets, which is a good choice for this type of weather. There are literally tons of different brands of rain jackets and coats on the market today. Many of these coats and jackets are made out of water-proof and water resistant materials, which is extremely important when it comes wet weather wear. An additionally important thing regarding raincoats and jackets is that they should be warm. Many rain jackets and coats don’t actually keep you warm, and instead only give you protection from rain and wet weather.

With rainy weather upon us in the Midwest, I wanted to search for and find a jacket that would be ideal for this bad weather that’s soon to come. I’ve purchased numerous rain jackets before with good and bad luck. I’ve found jackets with great water protection, but little warmth. And surprisingly, I’ve also found rain jackets that water soaks through and keeps you wet. Recently, I wanted to go out and find a rain jacket that would protect me from the rain and keep me warm at the same time.

One brand I always trust when it comes to clothing, shoes, and bags is North Face. I love North Face because they have tons of quality products that are great for the outdoors and bad weather. I’ve purchased numerous North Face products before, including both clothing and camping gear and have had great results as well. This time I wanted to find a great rain jacket that would be perfect for springtime wear. I immediately decided to hop on the North Face website to find the perfect women’s rain jacket. While browsing through the website, I came across the North Face Women’s Venture Rain Jacket. The raincoat is specifically engineered to withstand severe rainstorms and is also styled for everyday use. It’s lightweight and an all-around outdoor staple. It has a standard fit, is completely waterproof and breathable, and has a zip and Velcro closures. I decided to purchase the jacket in Dahlia Purple for $99 in a size XL directly from the North Face website, although it comes in a variety of colors and sizes extra-small through extra large.

The first thing I noticed about the North Face Women’s Venture Rain Jacket is how stylish it is. It’s a classic North Face design and it looks very sleek on and off. Secondly, it’s wonderfully waterproof. I went outside in a rainstorm this past March and I stayed completely dry. The North Face Women’s Venture Rain Jacket is also incredibly warm. It’s not lined, but it retains body heat very well. Finally, it’s easily washable. I accidentally got mud on the jacket while hiking and the mud came right off with a washcloth. To dry the coat, you simply hang it up. It’s that simply. The only downside to the jacket is the sizing. It was a bit snug and I would have to say the sizing runs fairly small, but that’s normal of North Size clothing.

Overall, I would rate this jacket a 4/5. It’s simply a great rain jacket. The North Face Women’s Venture Rain Jacket protects you from water, stays warm, and is also very stylish. I would recommend this jacket to any woman who loves North Face and really wants a great raincoat.
