Chug Cookies ‘n’ Cream Milk Shake

Cookies and Cream

In recent weeks, I have been consuming quite a few Chug Milk Shakes. Normally, I prefer to drink the vanilla or chocolate varieties, but I have also recently tried the Chug Cookies ‘n’ Cream Milk Shake. These convenient milk shakes are becoming quite popular and are being stocked and sold at more retailers on a regular basis.

Presented here, in an effort to assist the consumer, is one food writer’s product review of Chug Cookies ‘n’ Cream Milk Shake.

Size
The net weight of the standard – sized container of Chug Cookies ‘n’ Cream Milk Shake is 12 fluid ounces (354 ml). According to the product’s nutrition facts label, one container equals one serving.

During the past several weeks, I have consumed several Chug Milk Shakes and I just finished consuming my second Cookies ‘n’ Cream variety. Having consumed at least half a dozen of these shakes, I have received two servings from each of the milk shakes I have consumed.

Because Chug Milk Shakes, including the Cookies ‘n’ Cream flavor feature a screw on cap, you can drink part of the shake, then re – close it and save the remainder in the refrigerator. Also, because of the milk shake’s rich flavor and high sugar content, I find that one – half of a shake at a time is an adequate serving.

Price
The regular retail price charged for one 12 ounce container of Chug Cookies ‘n’ Cream Milk Shake at Hartford, Connecticut pharmacies and supermarkets is approximately $1.29. Considering the great flavor, convenience and overall high quality of the item, I think that this price is very reasonable.

Consistency / Texture
This milk shake offers a pleasing consistency that is thicker than flavored milk, but not as thick as many restaurant – style milk shakes. The front label states that the shake is ‘Extra Rich & Creamy’, but I personally think that it could be a little bit thicker. Generally however, the mouth feel offerd by this milk shake is quite satisfying.

Taste / Flavor
Having tried the vanilla, chocolate and cookies ‘n’ cream flavors of Chug Milk Shakes, I must say that the cookies ‘n’ cream variety is my least favorite flavor. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that this flavor tastes unpleasant, it’s just not my favorite. Then again, I often find that the flavors of various brands of cookies and cream flavored ice cream are too sweet and cloying. It seems like that is the case with Chug Cookies ‘n’ Cream Milk Shake.

If you’re a fan of cookies and cream ice cream, there’s a good chance that you would enjoy the flavor of Chug Cookies ‘n’ Cream Milk Shake. To me, however, the flavor seems somewhat over stated. It does taste like cookies and cream, but maybe a little too much. The cookies and cream flavor seems to dominate the product and to me, the flavor resembles melted ice cream more than it does a milk shake.

While I try to remain objective when reviewing products, the process of reviewing is largely a subjective one. You may try a Chug Cookies ‘n’ Cream Milk Shake and decide that you absolutely love its flavor. Personally, I think that I’ll stick with the vanilla and chocolate varieties, but if the cookies ‘n’ cream flavor is the only one in stock when I have a hankering for a Chug Milk Shake, I would definitely drink it again.

On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of 7.50.

Packaging
Chug Cookies ‘n’ Cream Milk Shake is packaged in a curved plastic bottle that features a purple label with a close up illustration of the enclosed product on the front and a listing of all relevant ingredient and nutritional information on the rear panel. The bottle opens easily and it also re – closes effectively.

Overall Rating
All things considered, Chug Cookies ‘n’ Cream Milk Shake is a convenient, reasonably priced product that will appeal to fans of cookies and cream ice cream. Although this flavor is a little bit too sweet and busy for my taste, I would still recommend the product. I’ll probably stick with the vanilla and chocolate flavors, though. Their more traditional flavors seem to suit me better.
