Memorial Day weekend in Burlington, Wisconsin is a fun filled holiday weekend with Chocolate Fest Pirates of the Chocolate Be’an, Art du Chocolate Art Show, a Memorial Day Parade, fireworks, games, rides, cooking demonstrations and lots of chocolate.

Pirates of the Chocolate Be’an

Chocolate Fest is a popular event celebrating all things chocolate in southeastern Wisconsin. Burlington Chocolate Fest runs May. 23 through 26, which is Memorial Day weekend. The theme of the 2008 festival is Pirates of the Chocolate Be’an.

The family oriented Chocolate Festival draws a crowd of about 35,000 visitors annually. Burlington is within driving distance from Milwaukee , Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois.

Burlington Chocolate Fest has been an annual event for 20 years. Volunteers run the festival, which benefits over 65 local and national charities.

Attractions to the festival include Chocolate, an Art Fair, rides, cooking demonstrations, entertainment and more chocolate.

Last year a 100 x 110 foot, air conditioned tent was added to the festival. Culinary demonstrations, featuring chocolate as the main ingredient, will be held in the tent. Visitors can be inspired with new ideas for cooking with chocolate.

ChocolateFest’s entertainment lineup includes Bob Hamm’s Wild West Show, Bucket Boys, Christopher Carter, Grampa Cratchet, Great Cat Adventures, Ron Kendricks, Jon Hainstock, Katie Todd, Kids Are People Too!, Live Band Karaoke, Love Monkeys, Pat McCurdy, Stukenberg, TaDaRobots, The Toys, Eddie Butts, Tim Castle & Young Southern, The Legends, Martha Berner and Pat Clark.

Fireworks will be held on Friday night, which is the first night of the festival.

Tickets to Chocolate Fest are: Adult $7, Seniors $6, Children 6-12 $3 and Children 5 and under Free. Cruncher Tickers that include all day rides are $25.

Hours: Friday 4 pm – 11 pm, Saturday and Sunday 10 am to midnight, Monday 11 am to 8 pm.

Memorial Day Weekend Events in Burlington, Wisconsin

The “Art du Chocolat” Historic Burlington Sidewalk Art Show runs May 24 through 25. Local artists showcase their work in Historic downtown Burlington.1- am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Browns Lake Aquaducks Water-Ski Show Team Memorial Day.

Memorial Day Joint Veteran’s Group Breakfast, May 25, 7:30 am to noon. Veterans Memorial Building.

Veterans Memorial Parade. May 26. The parade starts at 9 am. The parade is followed by a program in the park at 10:30 am.
