When it comes to take out food these days there are so many choices and so many let downs. I have tried more Chinese food restaurants in my life then that of twelve people combined but it’s all been in an effort to find the best ones. And let me tell you I’ve been extremely disappointed by the majority of them. That is until the first time I ever ate food from from China Wok in Winder Georgia. It wasn’t until that day that all of my expectations had been met.
At first glance this Chinese Food restaurant doesn’t appear to be much, but looks can be very deceiving. It’s located in a strip mall in between a nail salon and a beauty supply shop that don’t look as though they attract a lot of business themselves. China Wok itself is in a small space. There are only three tables that seat four each but as good as their food is bring it home to enjoy it. The restaurant is always clean and they have never had a low food safety score which is very important to know when eating at any place that serves food. Don’t let the looks of China Wok from the outside fool you, they have excellent cuisine and the service is by far the best I’ve had at any Chinese food restaurant in years.
There are many dishes that China Wok makes that are excellent however I would like to recommend that you order a bowl of their egg drop soup. There are no words to describe how delicious it is. I’ve never had another that compares to theirs. The same goes for their shrimp rolls. If I didn’t know any better I would think they hand rolled each individual one to ensure its perfection. And if you like their shrimp rolls then your mouth will just water upon seeing their spring rolls. They literally melt in your mouth. I was delightfully surprised the first time I tried one and I’ve been addicted to them ever since.
Enough about China Wok’s sides and appetizers and let me get right down to combination platters and lunch and dinner meals that are to die for. First my utter favorite is by far their Sweet and sour pork with a side of their pork friend rice. I know you may not believe this but until you’ve tasted their pork fried rice for yourself you wont believe how good it is. It’s unlike any other pork fried rice I’ve ever had before. And their Sweet and sour pork is so good it’s sinful. My second favorite is their sesame seed chicken, there are no words for how good it tastes. Your taste buds will be thanking you for hours and hours. As will they when you order their boneless ribs. I’ve had friends drive from Atlanta just to come to China Wok to order a plate of their boneless ribs, that’s how good they are.
So the next time your in the mood for Chinese food think about what I’ve said about China Wok and how Chinese food is supposed to taste. And if your in Winder Georgia or the Barrow County area stop on by and sample their food. You wont be sorry. Their located at 39 East May Street
