Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta Review

Chicken Pasta, Value Meals

Health – Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta has 1,260 calories, 67 grams of fat and 37 grams of saturated fat. While I did expect that this Chili’s menu item may be unhealthy, it was alarming to find out that it takes such an extraordinary bash to the average diet. If you are dieting and want to treat yourself once in a while, Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta is not the way to go. All of your previous hard work to lose weight or maintain a healthy diet will go down the drain when choosing this Chili’s restaurant menu selection. Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta has 93 grams of carbohydrates. The nutritional makeup includes 62 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber. Learning that Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta also has 5,310 milligrams of sodium is frightening.

Quality – Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta is served on a large plate with a side of garlic bread. The bread is slightly crispy around the edges but mostly soft overall. The chicken comes in nice sized strips that can be cut up and mixed with the pasta. This Chili’s restaurant selection has penne pasta covered in alfredo sauce. I got full after eating a little over half of this meal. One downside to this meal is that the pasta on the outside of the plate always seems to get cool very fast. The rest of the pasta soon follows, giving you the option to ask a waiter to reheat it or rush to finish the meal. On most occasions, it is usually better to just finish the meal.

Price – Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta used to be a little under $10 on the restaurant menu. It now costs $11.29 which is slightly higher than many other menu options. This meal is still affordable compared to high end restaurants and eateries located in shopping districts. I once ordered a Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta meal and two drinks without spending over $20. That may be the cost of four value meals at many fast food restaurants. However, the quality of Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta justifies the price.

Taste Test The chicken can be very spicy on most occasions when ordering from Chili’s Restaurant. However, it tastes great and has a nice blend of seasoning that makes it stand on its own when separated from the pasta. The pasta is delicious but may require a little seasoning as well or salt for men and women who do not prefer a plain alfredo taste. Considering how much sodium this meal actually has, I am glad that I tried the seasoning over regular salt on few occasions. The side of garlic bread is so tasty that you may want to order a second one.

Verdict – Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta is not just unhealthy, it is self-destructive. Ordering this menu selection once in a year may not be too bad. However, one serving is enough to last you for many years. It just may take that long to balance out your diet with healthier meals between the Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta servings. Although the garlic bread is good, it probably has even more sodium and fat. That can make for an unnecessary addition to Chili’s Cajun Chicken Pasta. This meal is filling and tastes great but needs improvements in the health and nutrition category.
