CBS Reveals Big Brother Season 10 Cast!

Areyou ready for Big Brother 10?
You know summer is in full swing when theoyeuristic CBS reality show,Big Brother, starts its run. Big Brother pits a group of houseguests in a house for several months, with no access to the outside world. There are cameras located throughout the house, and the housemates are filmed 24 hours a day. Each week one houseguest is voted out, and the last person standing at the end of the season wins $500,000.

Even though it hasn’t been all that long since Big Brother was last on the air, as this year CBS surprised us with a winter version, fans are excited for this summer’s show to start. Big Brother has become a summertime tradition since 2000 and this summer, it seems, CBS had decided to take the show in a slightly different direction.

Diehard BB fans have grown tired of the same old twists. There have been too many seasons with houseguests that knew each other ahead of time, with relatives, ex -lovers, etc. There have been unfair advantages in the house, most notably in Season 8 when a father and daughter made it to the final 2. This season, it seems that CBS has decided to go back to the basic premise of the show.

Show producer Allison Grodner has come forward with a few “leaks” about Season 10 of the show. First and foremost, the houseguests will all be strangers. 13 strangers. All of them, total strangers. What a concept! There are no second cousins, ex-boyfriends or paternity tests going on. This is great news because it means that no one is going into the house with an unfair advantage (or disadvantage, for that matter).

The past several seasons of Big Brother have featured mostly attractive 20-somethings, but the season 10 cast promises to be more diverse. Thank goodness-I can only take so many bikini baristas! Early leaks about the cast say that many of the houseguests will be opposites, as in they will have very differing views on religion and politics. Is BB trying to get intellectual on us?

Another twist is that the game will have already started before the cast enters the Big Brother house. I can only wonder what that means, but hopefully it will be something good.

There will also be a live studio audience for the weekly live evictions, something that BB hasn’t done since season 1.

The BB cast was announced on CBS’ Early Show this morning and a tour of the BB house is slated for Friday July 11.
