Can Blood Sugar Levels Make You Dizzy?

Blood Sugar, Diabetes Testing, Glucose

Blood sugar, properly addressed as glucose, can help or hinder how you feel daily. Without it the cells of your body would shut down and life would cease. That’s how important life sustaining blood sugar is.

Cells use glucose for energy and without energy nothing in the body could function. To help deliver blood sugar into the cells and to keep glucose balanced the pancreas goes to work making the hormone insulin. Insulin in the bloodstream will take glucose and drive it into the cells. Cells would not be able to do this on their own.

Eating causes a rise of insulin that will be needed to grab the extra glucose from the blood and send it into the cells to be burned as energy. Cells do store glucose reserves to use in times of stress and for survival. Too much glucose leads to obesity if the cells don’t burn enough energy to maintain weight.

Blood sugar can be tied as a predisposition for developing diabetes. Determining factors could show up after a heavy meal is eaten and not enough insulin is released into the blood or enough insulin is released and is not capable of putting glucose into the cells.

There are two types of diabetes both related to the way our cells handle blood sugar. A person is born with Type 1 diabetes and needs insulin shots everyday because their pancreas doesn’t make insulin or not enough insulin. A person develops Type 2 diabetes, which is a resistance to insulin by cells, and can manage it without shots.

Besides diabetes there are other ways glucose can do damage. Excess blood sugar in the bloodstream floats around bouncing off organs, arteries, and vein walls. It can do irreparable damage if the body cannot detoxify itself. The body does rid itself of impurities all the time through sweating, urination and bathroom visits, but its not that simple to remove all toxic buildups from the blood.

Glucose can stick to the side of arteries where clots may grow and thrive, paving the way for heart problems and heart attacks. Blood sugar can become cancerous or it could give necessary energy to pre-existing cancer cells. Poor circulation, decreasing eyesight, and weight gain can all be attributed to glucose. To help purify the blood there are herbal mixes you can buy at health food stores. Using this type of herbal mix will detoxify blood of excess glucose.

Heard of a sugar rush or sugar high? That happens when you have long intervals between eating and then eat sugary starchy foods. Glucose levels peak and insulin distributes the blood sugar into the cells. The increasing energy gives you a short-lived rush that drops and steadies off. The dramatic increase and drop in glucose can make you dizzy. Memory can also be affected in a similar manner of how alcohol limits oxygen to the brain. Eating small amounts of food throughout the day is one way to counteract sugar rushes.

You may never get a sugar high, but you may experience a sugar low. This happens when cells don’t receive enough glucose to produce a steady stream of energy. The supply of blood sugar absorbed can leave you feeling drained and tired. You might feel more inclined to sleep for longer hours than normal. Lower glucose levels can interrupt sleep by causing you to become too exhausted to sleep.
